Should Heterosexual Marriage Be Allowed?

Kilgore Trout

Spousal abuse and infidelity rampant, and half of all heterosexual marriages end in divorce. Heterosexuals have made a mockery of the holy union of marriage and have completely undermined the sanctity of this sacred institution. If the goal is to protect the sanctity of marriage, shouldn't we no longer allow heterosexuals to marry?

I even hear tell that heterosexuals are having sex with no intentions of having babies!!
Not to mention all the diseases they are spreading.

It's a total travesty. I don't know how we can keep allowing these people to destroy the sanctity of marriage.

Of course not, it should be banned. Also Homosexual marriage should be announced as the only legal option!!

There are some that marry in the traditional sense. Just because some don't take it as seriously as others doesn't mean we should take this priveledge away from everyone.

Omg!
We have to step in and intervene because our all powerful deity can't!

I can tell this is a joke thread, but the way people live is up to them. Only God can judge people.

Tell that to the armies of people who judge in the name of their god(s).

Yeah my view on that is noone should judge unless they are wise enough and have been given permission by the person being judged. Many people aren't wise enough or suited to judge in the name God for they don't know God himself.

I also hear that the word "obey" was taken out of the marriage vows and that women can own property. Whatever happened to tradition?

And people wonder why our country is sinking further and further into depravity.

Excellent point. I wonder if these misguided, newfangled ideas are at the root of the decline of the institution of marriage.

I mean, how are men supposed to maintain the sanctity of their marriage, if they're not allowed to beat their wives when they get uppity or willful?

Hopefully our lobby for wives to have dominion over their husbands was successful. Some of us would love to be protected and even ordered around.

I hear some of them aren't even using rings anymore. Can you imagine it?

Perhaps the whole notion of marriage should be abandoned by decent folk as irredeemably corrupted...
...& relegated as a quaint & obsolete practice reserved for heathens, atheists, gays, trannies & agnostics

Fine by me. Less competition.

Whatever it takes to protect the sanctity of it.
The best way to do that might be to give it a new name....say....."holy matrimony"...& then define & rigorously regulate it for preservation of sanctity.
Then "marriage" would be some second class union for apostates, god-haters & other advocates of abomination.

I hear that the laws are still on the books in North Carolina that on certain days, husbands can legally beat their wives on the steps of city hall in full view of the public.

At least there is SOME hope for tradition in some courageous and righteous parts of America.

And where are the civil rights advocates defending the rights of dominatrices to flog their charges in public?
