Should the USA add the Canadian Territory of Alberta Canada to the USA?

Should the USA add the Canadian Territory of Alberta Canada to the USA?
I keep hearing on podcasts and radio that the people of Alberta Canada see themselves as more American than Canadian. I'm not suggesting this will happen, but if it did, would it benefit the USA and would it benefit Alberta?

Well, if they throw in BC and the Yukon, that would give us direct overland access to Alaska.

I'm an Albertan. We're considered Texas North. It would definitely affect me personally, as I'd have to move. But It's Not Gunna Happen.

What if we offer to give Canada New York and the New England states as compensation? We could even throw in the Washington DC metro area.

I want Ontario as the 51st stage.
Then I could drive straight thru it to NY when heading to ME or MA.
@Wu Wei wants it too.

Canada is not already a territory of the US? o_O

That's got to change!
There is a simple formula. Is there oil in the ground? Can we take it from them? Oh, then it must be ours. Didn't we write most of those laws anyway? I think that makes us example.

Okay, the problem with a lot of Canadian oil is that it is not in the ground so much. It lies on the surface in tar sands and getting that oil is extremely destructive. I guess we need to seen in the coal miners from West Virginia. They are used to doing that.

We'd have an answer fir the question of how long before a Canadian wants to be back in Canada.
I'd also be very surprised if that's more than a fringe view.

There has been talk of separation in Western Canada for many years. It's just talk, however, and has no real legs. That said, no one, I've ever heard, has suggested any Canadian province join the states, though the US is always seen as a prospective trading partner for the new "nation".

I imagine it's like yokels here talking of succession. It's fringe, it's not gonna happen, most people just roll their eyes at it.
