Nothing beats the ussr anthem. Haha.
I think that we should give The Olympics a 100 year hiatus. It is a nice idea, but I think absence would make the heart grow fonder. It is a nice symbol, however the world can thrive on symbolism alone.

If a republican athlete wore a Swastika armband it would cross a line.

It was. Although in practical terms Hitler killed it by taking power and using emergency powers without term limits to simply bypass the constitution. Still, he never technically ended the Weimar Republic.
