Should we "Advise"?

As Christians, should we walk away from a situation which we see as being detrimental to others ? - or should we say something?

I don't believe in proselitizing, and I don't think that we would be being judgemental in our opinion, because it would not be our opinion, but that of God's as we know it ?
This thing gets bigger.... Would we be being neglectful and uncaring if we don't make our views known to those we see as floundering ?

It need not be made to sound as if we are telling people what to do........But surely, in conversation, we could say "Actually, I would not feel able to do "that" (whatever "it" is) , because as a Christian, it would mean that I would be doing something wrong"

If the opportunity to carry on does not present itself, then drop it - but at least we would have tried....................
What do you all think?

I think that the only reason that the early Christians preached was BECAUSE Christianity was not known to most people. But today, it is most certainly known (in a way) to the point that we should only "speak up" in a situation where there is an apparent lack of understanding.

And I don't think there's anything wrong with advice, as long as you ask first. But I definitely don't think we should tell people what to do. I imagine it depends on how well you know the person in question.

English schools do not teach the contents of the bible; sure children know about Jesus Christ, but only in vague terms associated with Christianity. It would be interesting to study how many actually could recite the ten comandments................

I know I am not a christian, so ignore my post if wanted. But I view christianity as a group. It is not strange to provide other with information. In humanity it also seems normal to try to make your group larger. This works if the other person is willing to listen. It does not work if the person does not want to listen. It can work if the other disagrees and you can convince him, but it can also become the opposite if they oppose your position.
So as group, one has to decide what the best choice is for the group. If I look at christianity on this moment, I would say the way Tomspug works is a good decision for the group.

Just an opinion.

That's true. Perhaps it is simply a matter of what you feel called in the Spirit to do. And that, whatever the result, you know that it felt like the right thing to do. And from a more intellectual standpoint, to consider what is to love and what is not.
