Any ideas to help me feel better? I think it was the pizza and breadsticks we had last night. I'm been puking ever since. (well, only twice, but I never puke, so that's a lot for me).

What do you guys do when you get sick.....I feel really naesuous right now.

Drink as much water as I can and sleep. I haven't been to the doctor for a bug in YEARS, this is usually what they tell you to do anyway!

Hope ya feel better soon Bec :)

I remember having that. My remedy was to turn off the "Moulin Rouge" movie.
:biglaugh:

But yeah, if you're throwing up constantly... is there anything left? If not have some yoghurt (if you're ok with dairy) and just keep trying yoghurt til you can keep it down.

I don't think any dairy product would be good for me, usually I end up throwing up more.

Every time I get nauseated, I try to stick to the BRAT diet: Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast. They're easy on the stomach and have nutrients that can help your body bounce back. That, and lots and lots of juice or water.

I hope you get to feeling better soon!

Thanks Jenna (that's your real name, right?). I forgot about the BRAT, thanks for reminding me.

You probably have a stomach bug, Becky.

My daughter had it this weekend and the best thing you can do is as others have mentioned...try to stay hydrated with clear fluids and rest as much as you can...even if you don't feel like sleeping...just chill out and give your body a good rest.

When you feel like you can keep a little something down...try the BRAT diet, which I'm sure you probably already know of...bananas, rice, apples and toast...things that are pretty mild.

I hope you feel better soon. Big Hugs.

Edit: Sorry Jensa, didn't realize that you've already mentioned BRAT. Just reiterating. :D

I have found that for nausea that isn't cure by BRAT, try some Emetrol. It has always worked for me. Very sweet though. So if you are diabetic, don't take it. Usually a tablespoon every 15 minutes until the nausea subsides. No more than 5 doses though. Hope you feel better.)(

Sounds like you've gotten some good advice Beck. I hope by the time you read this you feel better. :)

My daughter got food poisoning from pizza at one of those Sbarro (?) places in the mall. Since then we've never eaten there again. If you are throwing up it could very well be food poisoning. Usually it lasts around 12 hours or so if that's what it is. If you are still throwing up tomorrow, call the doc.

Sometimes sucking on peppermint candy works for me, in addition to the previous suggestions. I'll pray for a speedy recovery.
