Jaya Jagannatha!
Yesterday I watched a Youtube video on 'Sadhasiva Brahmendrar' who was the student of the 57th Pontiff of Kanchi Mutt, who lived in the 17 centuries.
Once, when this ever-naked monk was walking without any awareness on the self, he happened to trespass by the harem of a Muslim king. The Muslim king was infuriated, so he caught the self-unaware monk and chopped off his right arm completely. But Sadhasiva Brahmendrar was still unaware of himself, and tranquilly walked past. Seeing this, the Muslim king and his wives realized this is a monk. So after a few minutes, the king ran to the monk, and shaking him to come to his senses, apologized profusely to him. Sadhasiva Brammendrar simply laughed and then it is said, he got his severed arm attached to his body in an instant!
I was taken aback after reading this. I know of numerous siddhis (paranormal abilities) of many siddhas but then, I wonder, if all this is a gift of pure bakthi marga alone..........
My question is which marga - karma, bakthi, gnana allows for this kind of abilities? Sadhasiva Brahmendrar was incidentally a profound Shiva baktha.
