Sifting the Wheat from the Chaff

Ephramsdaughter

Kiwi Latter-day Saint
The weather is out of control, tsunamies occuring, there are earthquakes happening more frequently [or so it seems], volcanic eruptions, crime is on the increase, wars, and now a reccession and famine. So Do you think we are coming close the time wherein the "wheat is sifted from the chaff"? "What is the chaff to the wheat? saith the Lord" (Jeremiah 23:28)

No. I reckon someone has thought that the world was going to end this year, for at least the last 10,000 years.
I reckon someone has been predicting it based on the reported sayings of Jesus for about the last 1,800.

I don't think so, either.

The presence of the Dixie Chicks are enough proof for me that the world isn't going to end yet.

The three headed beast must have its reign until the time of Willie is complete.

Last night I saw a commercial that featured SHeDAISY (or however their alternative capitalization works) hawking mattresses. I didn't think that we were on the verge of an apocalypse before, but now I'm not so sure.

We also have Hootie singing country.

It's my local radio station's idea of a cruel joke... playing that horse crap in the morning.:computer:

It sounds like putting Icy-Hot on a cat's ***.

Heh... here, this is what we've been getting on the local radio station every morning, sometimes several times a day. I really don't need a crappy re-make of a Kanye West song filled with sound effects when I'm still not awake enough to throw the radio across the room in frustration, but my wife doesn't like the Edge's morning show and if I put my radio on the CBC, I'll never wake up.

I believe this scripture is referring to false prophets that prophesy delusions. Chaff here is used as symbolic for the true word of God, 3 figures of speech.
Grain, fire, hammer, grain can nourish, fire speaks of the divine word, and hammer that breaks a rock in pieces to judge the intent of the heart.
What is the chaff to the wheat? The chaff blows away, it is carried away by even a light wind, and when removed brings cleansing....

I'm not sure if these are the last days so-to-speak, but would you be surprised if they were?

Actually, violent crime is on the decrease in most industrialized countries, including America.

I think this song may give an answer.

The end of the world is nigh!

Well, actually, it is, always has been and always will be inasmuch as any one of us could pop our clogs at any time.

If ye are prepared ye shall not fear.

No one knows when Christ will return, not even the angels know.....Some scholars on prophecy have their own ideas about His return.....I don't personally study Bible prophecy but I know that If we endure and stand grounded in the faith, we will be ready when the day comes.......I think we just need to be concerned about how we live while here on earth, trying to follow the best example and continue with love, mercy and compassion for all people and faith in God. :)

I'm never good at judging the 'closeness' of end-of-days. I think maybe we'll know!

I guess my views about this are jumbled. There's a real paradigm shift happening... but...

I do know that I wish to be ready.:candle: (If and when.) I think God has been working since our arrival to seperate 'wheat from chaff'.
