Sim: Universe

Alright. Here's the thing. For this simulation, God or whatever caused things has ended the current universe. It was fun, but ultimately things ended. Maybe the Big Crunch. Maybe someone divided by zero. Maybe God wasn't happy anymore, and wanted someone else to do it, or retired.

In any case, somehow you got a piece of paper. A blank schematic, if you will. Now, this universe can exist in any way you want (atheist, Muslim, etc, even your custom design), but the point is, whether it exists because of scientific laws or magic or whatever, there are some guidelines.

The Rules

  1. If you quit before creating anything, nothing will exist. That means all of your friends, your pet kitten, your significant other, all gone. You quit, you can't bring them back. You don't play at all, all gets wiped.
  2. Let's see... ummm. You may go to sleep after the first part and let natural laws do the rest (deism is fine). You can also outsource creation to natural laws, or subdivide among your ten best friends (polytheism!). Or go the animism route and just make the entire universe divine. But if things exist, you gotta figure out how stuff works.
  3. You may make the entire universe illusory. You may also make it real but very sucky (think the Truman Show).
  4. No paradoxes. For example: if you do an evolution route, there must be first bacteria, and it must come about somehow (no uncreated creations). Likewise, no creator of creator of creator infinite regress crap. You can, however do time tricks, creating a time loop to make yourself eternal.
  5. As some human given the plan to create the universe, you are one person (nix on the omnipresent thing), you like or hate who you like or hate normally (not all-good), you can't see the future or read minds (not omniscient), and you are limited to a few key abilities based on the tools you have (not omnipotent). You are probably immortal though, since Sim games typically don't include the option of killing the player.
  6. Besides the blank schematic (allows a basic plan for the entire universe, once drawn it cannot be erased or revised without destroying everything and everyone) you may have up to six other tools. These are your powers, and the more you have, the more your remaining remaining power is divided. If they're stolen, you lose any powers stolen, but the new owner cannot use them. I chose a viewing globe (views only the present but can see all events), universal tablet (can view prayers and type simple miracles in and Press Enter with no multitask option), a disguise kit (can take any non-divine humanoid/plant/animal form), and a portal (you can enter reality/leave reality either through dreams or in person).
  7. You cannot interfere with free will, or force people to worship you (assuming you actually even wanted that). You can however set up coincidences so that people tend towards certain actions (such as matchmaking), provided they have a viable "no" option (say, getting on a boat to another country). Because of this, you can't reveal who you are directly, and any miracles you do have to have deniability.
  8. You have to deal with the problems of overcrowding and/or evil. Preferably not using each other but whatever.
  9. You can't stop or alter time for anyone but yourself. As in, you can travel through time but only as a tourist, and other people don't notice you or get affected.
  10. A personal rule: No tampering with other created universes. It's not a debate thread, and your schematics only apply to your universe.
So basically, two parts to this simulation. The universe must exist (preferably without extreme logical flaws), the universe must continue to exist (hopefully without those created trying to destroy you).

1. define constants (total mass/energy, relations of particle masses etc.)
2. code particle/wave interaction functions (wave functions)
3. code the "grid" (expansion of space, when to activate wave functions, etc.)
4. get one of those fancy Matrioshka brain super computers (Matrioshka brain - Wikipedia) (May need to go back to step 1 and 3 to tweak the numbers to fit the capacity of the computer)
5. press "Start"
6. Profit!

Wait! I have to deal with overcrowding/evil? (Rule 8) Nope. There is no evil in the universe, it just "is".

I'm going to create my universe on Thursday just like god created this universe Last Thursday.

Be your own guru
Samantha, you did not pay attention to your school science, and even after leaving school you were not interested in science.

"So basically, two parts to this simulation. The universe must exist (preferably without extreme logical flaws), the universe must continue to exist (hopefully without those created trying to destroy you)."

There are no conditions like this. The universe can begin ex-nihilo also. And, if it can arise ex-nihilo, it can fold back to nihilo, any time.

I like your 6 step creation so far.

Well I mean you could ignore them for awhile. But someday...

I studied science: chemistry, botany, physics, and biology. What I didn't study was the politically correct 2000s+ climate change garbage, or other types of indoctrination that passes for "science" but rather actual science. Which I'm not sure about you, since you never mentioned science except to strawman me by telling me I'm not good at it.

Feel from to make the universe ex nihilo if you want. But I don't believe ex nihilo is scientific, mister "I didn't study science."

Conservation of mass - Wikipedia

The law of conservation of mass or principle of mass conservation states that for any system closed to all transfers of matter and energy, the mass of the system must remain constant over time, as system's mass cannot change, so quantity can neither be added nor be removed. Therefore, the quantity of mass is conserved over time.

That is to say, "matter cannot be created or destroyed." It just rearranges or remixes (they use as an example CH4 + 2 O2 -> CO2 + 2 H20). The problem of ex nihilo is that it blatantly mocks any proposal that one is acting on behalf of science because it claims its own laws only work when convenient. That matter doesn't spontaneously reproduce for all known physical laws, but hey when we mention the Big Bang or the first life, holding things consistent for those who believe in science to use actual science is too much of an imposition.

Theology can invoke ex nihilo (but I don't like it there either because I believe God respects natural law), by claiming that God's holy magic suspended or revoked those laws in order to create the universe. Science cannot without basically revealing it is not actually science but an ersatz.

Rule #4 stands.

I love Darkmatter2525.
But I took care of the problem. My universe is exactly like our universe (at least when viewed from a materialistic POV). You couldn't find a difference if you were living in it. You might think that you aren't living in the best possible universe but at least it would be the best universe you knew off.

thanks
if you never mind that i can share with you please

If the gods would change
Will all gods enjoy the same general taste of the mechanics of the heavens

Just like you, you develop different ideas from the formal concept of a believer
The assertion of the new gods will either develop new ideas or new vital practices, or change our solar system

The existence of the same system means that the machine has not changed and there is no idea that there are new gods because they will be unable to do anything or do any changes of mechanical engineering at the level of the universe

From this who will empty himself and torment himself to do space engineering only, free services for creatures
Enjoy the Walt Disney Space Park and admission is free even after four billion years
Then, to live in it, you have to pay
How will the gods benefit from tickets?
These perverted thoughts are natural when they escape from your hand the compass of space and time

compass conferm that he was one creator and he is only the one who Management the cosmos

Heyo, you murderer. There's death again!

I wanna try!
===============================================
Long ago, when the pyramids were still young, Egyptian kings played a game of great and terrible power... wait, that's Yugioh. Ummm...

Once (after this universe but somehow in the past, because I like doing narrative-style), there was a Light surrounded on all sides by Darkness. Then the Light and Darkness merged, and God was born out of the wild passionate sex that followed. But God was alone, and sat above the bleak Grey that is Void. So God split the Void into Light and Dark (deja vu here). And so there was Time, as Light and Dark moved in cycles of Day and Night. And God said, let there be a bunch of stuff split from this Light and Dark, and let there be Yin Yang magic. So there were all kinds of plants and animals, and people worshiping a bunch of different religions. About 108,000,000 people were created and spread throughout the Earth, but they were given very little guidance so they made their own. Also, there was water and sky, and there was a planet (not Earth). Eventually all this Light and Darkness was used up making the rest of things. The planet is probably round, but I dunno (or care), and I think a flat planet is cooler, so let's make this planet two flat discs joined at their edge (south tip of one meets north tip of the other), with two domes of sky. These domes were blue during the day because of the orgones (read up on Wilhelm Reich) released energy into the air from night activities. The sun and moon moved from one "hemisphere" to another. And such things as gravity existed, but the sun and moon orbited the planet and not the other way around. Nobody understood how gravity and other stuff worked but human beings didn't ask too many questions. For you see, all events on this planet were on an 80-year cycle, so everything besides the planet itself would be on temporal repeat, resetting to exactly 108 million people and pristine landscape. In this way, whether humans built things or bred like rabbits or just blew things up, nothing they did had a lasting impact on the planet. And God went back to sleep, and the Light and Dark were born.
=================================================

As you see, it did satisfy (mostly) the no paradoxes rule, and also the concern about overpopulation. But ummm it's also pretty messed up.

Yes, and those 100 billion dead are on my conscience. But there are also very smart people who might find a cure for death or at least a way to cheat death (mind uploading). Without drama and strive it would be a very dull narrative.
