After commenting that my free (which mrscardero pointed out wasn’t so free) 1 year Sirius radio subscription was being turned off in my car in January, I admitted to her that there was the possibility that I was going to miss it. I kept the channel mostly on 1st Wave radio, which plays alternative music from the 80’s. In that year, I noticed that like any radio station, that the programming would fall in a rut. The first month I had it I was impressed because there were many songs that I heard that I was surprised to hear on any radio station. The novelty quickly wore off because as much as I loved the post modern musical era, I knew that there was more to it. Many times I would notice songs that were repeated and they also manage to sour me on U2 and Depeche Mode which they played ad nauseum.
Mrscardero picking up on my comment, recently purchased me a Sirius radio that I could take in the car and apply to a mobile radio. I told her that the gift was very thoughtful and I understand that there are 120 + channels to choose from but could not justify the $12.95 a month subscription plan but did offer her the opportunity that if she wanted to keep it (I think she enjoyed the service more than I did) I would pay for half the cost of the system and support her for half a year with the monthly bills.
Does anyone subscribe to Sirius radio or XM?
What is your favorite station?
What kind of plan are utilizing?
Have you had any problems with the service (besides the signal cutting out or the programming that skips)?
Is satellite radio worth it to you? Do they offer enough of your taste in music or could it be improved?
