Twilight Hue

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I noticed a further increase of ads on this site had occured, including a fairly new expanding mobile pop up from the bottom of my screen, and it got me thinking about the state of ad frequency and intrusion in general, and the thoughts and reactions that go with it.

Time had some interesting things to say in this article about this very thing...

With the knowledge that ads help defray costs and provide a source of revenue, there is also a line I think that upon crossing, can do more damage than good by the reasons ads are placed and structured in the first place.

The question in general is, "When does too much, become too much for a person in the way of ad intrusion and frequency?"

******* autoplay video ads. Actually autoplay videos in general on text based sites.

They usually kick in when you have read about 2 paragraphs forcing you to scroll up to stop them.

I have to stop plugins running on my browser otherwise it causes me great anger, but then that's annoying when I go to a sight where I have chosen to watch a video and have to enable the plugin manually.

So they don'y only annoy me on the sites themselves, but force me to change my overall computer settings.
