Small Dreams/Wishes

Most of us have big dreams in life, be they related to our careers, family, relationships, or any core aspects of our identity. However, there are sometimes also smaller wishes or dreams. This thread is for them.

The first "small dream" that comes to mind for me is my wish that I weren't allergic to cats. I adore them. Seeing one on the street or petting one can bring a smile to my face, and befriending a few cats in the military helped to make my time there easier.

I also follow many cat accounts on social media. I wish I could keep one as a pet; I have no doubt he/she would become a family member to me.

I wish I hated the taste of cake and chocolate. It would make grocery shopping less torturous.

On the one hand, I want to maintain a reasonably healthy weight. On the other hand, I want to buy the entire cake aisle.

I'm pretty sure trying to walk past an infinite cake aisle is one of the punishments in Tartarus.

I thought I was allergic to cats (sneezing, red itchy eyes...) but when my partner suggested I therefore needed to move out I discovered cat dander wipes and sprays. The story has a happy ending cos I got to stay in my own home. (I only needed the wipes for a few weeks...)

My current small dream is that my daughter’s SO can overcome his agoraphobia just enough so he can spend time at my daughter’s house so she and my granddaughter don’t have to be cooped up in his apartment to spend time with him and so my daughter feels less stressed about splitting her home life and relationship.

I don't dream often, when i do it's a mega recurring nightmare that i don't need

I do have a small wish though... I had a cold which has left me with a throat that catches when i breath. I do wish it would go away.

I have this dream of putting out a number of novels, children's books, and other types of media. When I was a kid, I had a dream of creating my own comic book.

Luckily, I can say that I have done at least a part of these. In 2012, I self published a sci-fi novel called Masoth: The Journey Beyond and now I am doing crowdfunding to self-publish the sequal which I have titled Masoth: Ascending the Core.

I have written about five children's books, now I am just trying to find an artist for them. So, those are my dreams - at least in part.

I must be getting old. In your first line I initially misread "carers" for "careers".

I dream of meeting my YouTuber friend Charlotte for coffee somewhere, one day. Maybe at Barnard Castle.
