Snail on kitchen celling

There is an enormous snail stuck to my kitchen's ceiling

What should I do about it?

It has been there for I think four days now

Define enormous.

Is it alive?
It's much bigger than a regular snail it is perhaps 3 inches long

And it has been in the same place for a few days now so it could very well be dead

That is enormous.

Poke it with something.

Knock it down, take it outside if living, garbage if dead.

None of my chairs could take my weight but I could ask my petite neighbour to have a go!

@JustGeorge has suggested poking it, try knocking it off with a brush handle. If it's dead it will probably fall right off when knocked. If it's alive it will probably slide a bit first before it looses contact with the ceiling.

Or leave it there as a conversation piece ;-)

I think I will just let it be

If it's dead it's dead

And if it's alive then it must be happy where it is as it hasn't moved

My only worry is that it might fall off
