So has every conservative dissociated themself with her yet?

I don't condone her speech, she and Howard Stern would make a good couple. They both are offensive to me.

People who say Bush and Cheney are idiots are not much better.

Ann knows she can get limelight by uttering offensive language, just like Howard Stern does.

Turns out Ann Coulter has been taking lessons from middle schoolers about how to insult people.

Well, you may be giving her an age advantage....we see a lot of that stuff in elementary, and we teach that it is not acceptable. She banks on the unacceptable, she considers it part of her charm. And...people buy into it, after all, she's been around for a while.

Nope, but there are certainly no words in the English language that are off-limits in my opinion. Besides, Edwards is putting the jab to great use. He has it up on his website and is using it to get contributions. Which is brilliant. So I don't see what the problem is.

I thought it was hysterical. She's a Michael Moore type figure. She's entertainment. She's like John Stewart. She isn't a politician.

No, I disagree. Michael Moore is a propagandist, sure, but Ann Coulter says some downright disgusting things.

My personal favorite? "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is that he did not go to the New York Times building." Yeah. She said it.

To equate Michael Moore with this "person" is to employ a pretty ill-informed fallacy right there.

And Jon Stewart has never advocated terrorism against Fox News journalists to my knowledge, either.

My question: How in the name of King Tut did America's conservatives allow this mo-dette to become their, er, spokesperson?

You can't be serious. Michael Moore is a hate monger, but he's funny about it. Jon Stewart is a political sniper, but he's funny about it. Ann Coulter is a political sniper, and she's funny about it. The only difference is, liberals can't stand anyone saying anything bad about them, while they'll viciously and remorselessly slander any conservative they so please and laugh all the way to the bank.

And, isn't that the same exact thing that Coulter does? Only, change the word "conservative" to "liberal"?

um, not really. Coulter doesn't typically slander anyone. She remorselessly makes vicious, insulting, degrading comments directed toward anyone that even slightly resembles a liberal. Liberals tend more toward slander, lying, and fabricating stories, i.e. Michael Moore, CBS, etc. Coulter is more of a 4th grade bully. :) OH! And Coulter can stand people saying anything they want about her. She's love it. She makes her living off it.

Ah, I see. Being a vicious rabid b*tch is fine, but we're not allowed to say that she represents all of conservatives even though most of them agree with what she says. However, just because Moore is an a**hole himself, that automatically makes liberals sladerers and deserving of the highest criticism, even though most liberals are very quick to distance themselves from him.

Good to know.

I don't know about Coulter being able to handle anything that's thrown at her. I remember an interview with her, Hannity and two dems, and once Hannity was removed from the picture she was at such a loss for a way to make a counter argument, that she stormed off the set like a petulant child.

I was using Moore and CBS as examples of slander. Liberals are just as meanspirited and crude as conservatives, but Conservatives are known more for digging up dirt on people and then crucifying them till they run out of nails.

Liberals are better known for slander (lies and misinformation). That doesn't mean they are the only ones. Karl Rove is a master of slander and he is the current brain of the GOP. So I'm talking about things in general here. The point is, at least MY point is, liberals don't have any high ground here. None whatsoever. They ignore the things their people say and harp on the things the conservatives say, and not because they are hypocrites. Conservatives tend to be more hypocritical, while liberals tend to be crybabies.

It's why I have such little respect for Democrats and why I don't trust Republicans.

She stormed off the set? Well, then I suppose I was wrong about her being able to handle it. But she does get rich off the controversy. The more Democrats whine and cry, the more conservatives love her.

No. But conservatives are amused by the crybabies they face as political rivals. Democrats are utterly uninspiring because they spend most of their media time sniveling. I'm all for liberals taking the high ground and the high road, but frankly, they don't have the slightest clue where either are. The Democrats aren't any less vicious than the Republicans - I would argue that they are, in fact, more vicious on average.

Uh. Crybabies?

I personally know many conservatives constantly moan about the liberal devil slandering them, while utter hate speech is Miz Coulter's idea of small talk.

I'm not a huge Michael Moore fan either, but the post that I was replying to seems to be more of a "But Michael started it!!!1!" type of thing to me.

I'm not a Democrat. I'm a Socialist. And I don't pity myself when Annie talks like that. I just feel sad for the people who believe her.

I don't know about liberal devils. :) But Democrats are fond of slander. Ann's idea of a "sophomoric joke" (in her words) is simply mean spirited, childish antagonism. But, in its context, it was funny. The Democrats do it too.

I don't think Moore started anything. This is all old news as far as politics is concerned. At least we don't kill each other over politics much anymore. We've actually got better.

I'm not a Conservative. I'm a Libertarian. And I don't care that much about Ann or Michael. They represent the entertainment wing of both parties. They are in it for the money. And what are people suppose to believe? She was making jokes, not claims.
