Solomon's Seal Ring

I think i read that it was made of brass and iron.
It was engraved with the holiest of names of G-D. With the Brass side, he would sign his commands for the Good Side (Angels). With the Iron side, he would sign his commands for the bad side (Demons). In other words, with this ring he was able to control the Angels and Demons that surrounded Israel, using G-D's signature, if you will.

I also read that he was given 4 stones from 4 different angels that he had incorporated into the ring. The 4 stones represented the 4 elements of life, giving him total control over them. I am not 100% sure, but I think I read this part from a Muslim source, and not a Jewish Orthodox one.

LOL...
Even if you were to find it, you would not be able to use it in any way. These things are done by the person itself using an item as a tool. but the true power comes from the person, not the ring.

As we know, King Solomon was the brightest individual this planet has ever known. He was able to accomplish things that would seem way out of reach for our puny brains (in comparison to his.)

I dont think anyone unable to use the ring would find it. What i wonder is why not return it to humanity? I think the whole planet would benifit. How was the ring lost?

Orthodox Scholars believe that everything that has been created by G-D has its counterpart.
So in this case, he was indeed using magic. But it depends how you define magic. It wasn't trickery or dark magic. It was simply a Holy gift.

Kaballah has been known to giving people worthy of it Rouah HaKodesh. Rouah HaKodesh is a Gift from G-D that gives a human being a 6th sense, if you will. It allows them to see way more things than our eyes can. Just by looking at you, or touching you, they can know plenty of things about your passed or future. This exists until today. Just like everything else, G-D was fair and created this knowledge on the Holy side, as well as the Dark side. Gypsies and Fortune tellers are indeed capable of seeing these things just as effectively as Rabbis who have attained this level. But it is not allowed for us to use black magic.

That being said, There is no doubt a man of so much power like King Solomon, would be called a magician. However I assure you it wasn't really magic per say. It was a Holy power accomplished only by the will of G-D.

Think of it this way: If your son were to do exactly everything as you asked him to, never causing any trouble... One day your son comes to you and asks you for a bike, will you not buy him one?

Same thing for these Sages, prophets, Rabbies... They do everything by the letter to serve G-D. When they ask something (through prayers), they are indeed rewarded.

We don't know for sure how it was lost. He might have been burried with it. Or it might have been safely kept inside the temple before its destruction. Many suspect that artifacts from the Holy Temple are being kept in the Catacombs of Vatican, so it is possible for it to be there as well.

I've wondered this, too. Those acts really do seem like they're associated with some form of magic.

I won't say more in an Orthodox DIR, but there are those who describe it as magic, and it has been treated as such in the past by some Jews. These ideas are not currently favorable in most Orthodox circles.
