Solve This Puzzle

Yesterday, I changed one of my rear brake lights. When inserting the light back into the proper hole the bulb fell out and into the light well. I didn't want to remove the tail light cover to retrieve it, because it's a hassle. Here was my situation. I was left with a 3/4" diameter hole and the bulb was about 4 to 5 inches below that.

I did retrieve the bulb without removing the tail light cover. Can you guess how I did it?

When I drop a screw down under the motherboard, I turn the computer over and shake it gently. Did you do something like that?

Then, perchance, you chew gum and fashioned a "retriever" from string and a suitable weight?

Or maybe you got hold of some "dark", put that on a string and pulled the "light" up when it was attracted to the dark on the principle that opposites attract.

You put a drop of superglue on one part of velcro and glued it to the bulb. With the other velcro part on a coat hanger it was a simple matter of touching the two together.

They don't call me McGiver for nuttin' you know.

You got it, Rex. I used a heavy cord and taped a magnet onto it. The bulb had metal at the base. It worked. The problem was that you had to use something that could bend.
