Some Proof of the Messiah

A Dictator of a Coach
Unlike other Religions Christianity is based on Proof and fact not just Faith and belief. Some of the proof of Christianity are prophecies of the Messiah fulfilled in Jesus Christ.

1. The prophecy that the Messiah would by a descent of Abraham.

Genesis 12:3------------Matthew 1:1

2. The prophecy that the Messiah would be a heir to the Throne of David.

Isaiah 9:7------------------Luke 1:32-33

3. The prophecy that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem.

Micah 5:2-------------------------Luke 2:4-7

4. The prophecy that the Messiah would be born of a virgin.

Isaiah 7:14------------------------Luke 1:26-31

5. The prophecy of the slaughtered Children

Jeremiah 31:15-------------------Matthew 2:16-18

6. The prophecy of the flight to Egypt

Hosea 11:1-------------------Matthew 2:14-15

7. The prophecy of John the Baptist, who would prepare the way for the Messiah.

Isaiah 40:3-5------------------------Luke 3:3-6

8. The prophecy that the Messiah would be a prophet.

Deuteronomy 18:15--------------------Acts 3:20-22

9. The prophecy that the Messiah would be rejected by his own people, the Jews.

Isaiah 53:3----------------------------John 1:11, Luke 23:18

10. The prophecy that the Messiah would be betrayed by a close friend.

Psalm 41:9-----------------------------Luke 22:47-48

11. The prophecy of the thirty pieces of silver.

Zechariah 11:12-----------------------Matthew 26:14-15

12. The prophecy that the Messiah would be a sacrifice for Sin.

Isaiah 53:12------------------------------Romans 5:6-8

13. The prophecy of the resurrected Messiah.

Psalm 16:10, Psalm 49:15-------------Mark 16:6-7

Christianity is a religion of fulfilled prophecies, the proof is in the Word of God for all to see. There is a lot more prophecies to read, so read and know the proof of Jesus Christ the Messiah.

Lets start with these 3

2. The prophecy that the Messiah would be a heir to the Throne of David.

Isaiah 9:7------------------Luke 1:32-33

Proof that Jesus was not an heir to the Throne of David:

Matthew 1:11------------------Jeremiah 22:24-30

3. The prophecy that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem.

Micah 5:2-------------------------Luke 2:4-7

Micah 5:2 specifically refers to a clan not a place.

4. The prophecy that the Messiah would be born of a virgin.

Isaiah 7:14------------------------Luke 1:26-31

The word used is "almah" which means "young woman". There is no prophecy which requires the Messiah to be born of a virgin.

Yeah...see, I'd have been more impressed if the "prophecies" hadn't been written well after the events...or if there's been a passge which read 'Yea, and the unbelievers produced a gynaecologist from their numbers and he didst prod and poke and proclaim in a loud voice "Yes, lads, she still has a hymen!"'

Luk 21:29-31
(29)
And he spake to them a parable; Behold the fig tree, and all the trees;
(30) When they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now nigh at hand.
(31) So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is nigh at hand.

Zec 6:12
(12)
And speak unto him, saying, Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, Behold the man whose name is The BRANCH; and he shall grow up (Shoot Forth) out of his place, and he shall build the temple of the LORD.

True prophets cannot exist, as the universe is ruled by chaos.

Now that's same truth I can get down with. And I guess all the Stone carving of lest as say Egypt with the Gods isn't Proof then. Last I check, it was around before(which doesn't really mean much), it's proof there religion. And they had Pictures:D. The bible is just word on some paper.

What about all the other Jewish prophecies about the Messiah, such as that on His arrival, Jews would know the Torah without study, or that He would rebuild the Temple?

I can dig up the entire list of Messiah prophecies from the Old Testament that apparently haven't been met... if you want.

With regards to the prophecy concerning the Jewish people knowing the Torah without study, that could mean that the Law of God was to be written upon the heart of the individual believer through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, as we learn that the Spirit of God will be upon many people in the last days. When one knows the basic tenets of the Law of Moses, which can be summed up in one word, love, one basically has unlocked the door to the whole of the Torah.

The Temple prophecy can be quite confusing. One can say that Jesus will re-institute the true Temple in Jerusalem at His second Coming. Some believe that it will be built here on earth before His coming. While others, myself included, contend that the temple is the body of each individual believer that houses the Holy Spirit. Afterall, the Temple to Christians nowadays would be of little meaning. The final sacrifice was paid by the blood of the blameless lamb, that is, Jesus the Anointed. When the Holy Spirit resides in the believer, what greater Holy of Holies could there possibly be? And what is greater before God? The Temple, made of stone and adorned with gold, or the believer in His Son, Jesus Christ, who is sanctified from sin and indwelt with the Holy Spirit?

Sorry, thedictator. None of these quotes indicate as proof. You'd need evidence or independent witness to verify them.

Apart from disciples of Jesus, no non-Christian contemporaries wrote about him and to verify his existence, which make it impossible to verify his existence.
