Bodhisattva in Recovery
No doubt Chris has seen this wonderful video, but for those of you who have not had the pleasure of seeing the band Yes perform Live I thought I'd give you the YouTube offerings of one of their finest. Due to the length of this piece, unfortunately the video is split in two parts, but it seems to work just fine. One must keep in mind that this is performed at ear-splitting decibels and when I saw them do this (both times) it was accompanied by an incredible laser light show that eventually led to the ban of excessive lasers during rock performances. It is taken from their landmark album called "Going for the One" and this is the final track entitled simply, Awaken.
Wake up sleepy-heads. I hope you all enjoy this effort by what is perhaps one of the finest "art rock" or "progressive rock" bands to grace concert stages.
Awaken, Part One (Live - 1991)
Awaken, Part Two (Live - 1991)
Another wee gem is from a band called Pink Floyd. I first saw them perfom this when I was 16 and I suppose that it had a bit of an impact on me back then (34 years ago). Given that it is still one of my favorites that might be a bit of an understatment.
Set the controls for the heart of the sun (live at pompeii)
and finally, just for good measure and something completely different
Let there be light - Mike Oldfield
