I've asked you several times now, and you haven't provided any reasoning. I'll ask again. Why do you think that God said "let there be light"?

Just this early morning, I popped it to a co worker
and he seems to think Adam was the first man......in the altogether
made of dust

I said.....that doesn't make him unique.....YOU are made of dust
and he didn't really get it ( I could tell)

so.....what do you believe?

Even when I practiced Christianity, I didn't believe Adam was even a real man let alone the first one. It's a fable designed to help believers carve out the first story of morality and what it means to disobey God. If you eat a forbidden fruit, God will curse the rest of the world due to that first sin. If that story is true, what kind of a god is that? Even human parents don't punish all the kids in the house for the infractions of one. Let's hope it's an allegory because it is scary to think of it being literal.

Adam/Eve is a symbolic representation of a state of mental development. At a certain state of evolution the concepts of good/evil right/wrong are not part of awareness let alone debate. As brains evolved, brains could contemplate virtue and vice and start forming systems of what is good and what is bad.

The story is thus to me symbolic of evolution and not about a "magic wand "being waved around.

I guess my "Adam" would perhaps be the first recognisable Homo sapiens, though I don't think a "Homo sapien" popped out of the womb of one of our ancestors one day, it was a gradual evolution. That's not true. We evolved from a common ancestor with apes. So, there certainly does not have to be a first, singular human male. Maybe a woman, but not a man.

I'm not a believer in the Abrahamic myth, but if there were a Deity, and we were made in it's image, then that Deity would have to be a Goddess, as the first form is female, and if a chemical interaction didn't take place in the womb, all babies would be female.
