Sooo - what do you do with your time when you're unexpectedly alone?

Tonight, my husband unexpectedly had to go out of town. So....I think I'll drink an entire bottle of wine and eat chocolate Hershey kisses for dinner, and type away on the keyboard till he gets home. By then, I should be sufficiently soused to impress him mightily with my wild abandon.

Warning - my posts may begin to be both lambastic - and splattered with misspelled words and numerous exclamation points between now and 10 pm!

What do you do to entertain yourself when you suddenly realize you have free time on your hands?

I've been on vacation. It seems I spend my free time reading and posting on the net. I have a whopper of a cold too, which makes me even lazier.

Hershey Kisses sound like a fine dinner. Ever top warm waffles with chocolate chips, and then just pick them up and eat them like pizza? That's a favorite around here.

I listen to music, read all sorts of books (right now I am reading 2 books from Elaine Pagels about what she calls "the Jesus Movement" and a murder mystery or 2). I dig out old DVDs, or ones I check out at the library. Cook something I don't normally fix. One good thing about being alone at dinnertime is being able to make something strange. The best thing about being alone at night is the quiet (my husband loves to talk)

The internet is always good for something. Reading though is also a great activity and then TV. At home my wife and kids have all the tv rights when I home alone or travel its the only time I get the TV to myself.

Dang, woman! You can put away the booze. Anyway, I recommend
a good not-too-sweet dark chocolate if you have a red wine.
If it's a white wine, then pour it down the drain & get a red wine.

I came home today and my younger sister was at school, and my older sister and mom had gone out to look for a book... Baggins and I took a nice long nap.

Other times when no one is at home except me, I'll watch movies, play video games, sleep a lot, read a book (because I hardly ever read since I'm always talking to everyone... You cannot read very easily in this house, because people are always talking to you, so you lose your place every five minutes.)
