I like that idea.
A person is, essentially, a hive of cells. So why can't that also apply to souls? That is, if you believe in souls.

I think that if souls existed, maybe the organism who had one would have to have a sort of personailty... like trees probably wouldn't have souls. I don't believe in souls though.

I believe it's both. Each individual soul has it's own purpose and path (Will).
Yet, those numerous souls are aspects of a "bigger" soul, a cosmic soul/god-soul
