I would say that if there are hidden spiritual truths about life they most likely would be found through ones own thought process as apposed to a book. What are your thoughts on it?

All Spiritual answers are found within.

I disagree.

Such truths are generally revealed through study of texts, through spiritual disciplines, or through mystical experience.

Texts can provide food for thought (haha), but beyond that, truth is not revealed through thinking. Imo.

Is the alphabet a spiritual truth?

You have no way of knowing that your thoughts are any truer than spiritual texts.

I would not describe them as hidden which implies someone hid them. I would prefer "not experienced".

The mind is also what Buddhists call the "monkey mind" because as WIkipedia puts it - the ordinary mind is "unsettled; restless; capricious; whimsical; fanciful; inconstant; confused; indecisive; uncontrollable".

But properly directed and balanced by the heart, it can be very helpful. Books can also be of use because they can help focus the mind and reduce it's "monkey" nature.

So to me it's both not either/or.

Sorry. I’ll make it a point to be more shallow in your threads moving forward.

I don't think there can be a spiritual truth since nothing spiritual can be verified.
I mean if you are going to call something a truth you ought to have some way of verifying it.
