South Park mirth...

Haha, love those guys. What I don't really understand about Issac Heyes though is the fact that in the past, South Park has parodied and took the mick out of a few different religions. If he is prepared to hand it out, he should not react like this when it comes around to his religion!

ps. Sorry RF for using a naughty word, my post has been swiftly edited.:D

i agree with c0da, if he's prepared to dish it out, he can't complain when it's his turn! i think south park is just funny!

From the BBC News Article
In a recent episode, one of the gang, Stan, did so well in a Scientology test that church followers thought he was the next L Ron Hubbard, the late science-fiction writer who founded Scientology.
The funny part about that is that you cannot test well or poor, bad or good on those initial personality tests because there is no right or wrong answers.

South Park is awesome. And I agree...they knock on EVERYTHING. And most often have a message to their episodes in the end anyway. To complain now that something affects you is a little hypocritical.

South Park ROCKS! I'm really surprised with this whole Isaac Hayes thing. I mean, South Park has ripped on everyone. You'd think he'd be more upset with the stereotypical portrayel of his black character than he would of his religion.

But if it really is about religion? Where was he when they came up with the episode "The Passion of the Jew"?

Please. The guy leaving because they made fun of Scientology has made him the laughing stock of the world.

Yeah, this is all pretty ridiculous. Hayes' character Chef was one of the raunchiest characters in the whole cast. He can serve up "Chef's salt balls" for luch at school, but he draws the line when it comes to making fun of his own religion? That's a laugh. Not to mention that pretty much every other religion has been knocked too. Maybe he's just a big hypocrite.

I figure that its perfectly reasonable to be a faith filled person, and yet still have a sense of humor when it comes to your faith, no? And let's face it--scientology is just funny all around.

By the way, one of my favorite episodes is the one about Mormons. Yes, it does make fun of Mormonism, but I like the twist at the ending when the little Mormon boy wins the day by pointing out that if it helps him to be a better person, who are those guys to think he's stupid for what he believes?

That's just it. Most of the episodes they do that are controversial are the ones with a point at the end. Look at Stan and his dog Sparky. Some don't and are just funny with a grain of salt. If Hayes can't grow up about it let him be reduced to his new life of commercials for things like butter. Hope he loves his decision...and lives with it.
