Spiritual Experiences

Audience: Individuals who believe in god(s), spirits, and/or so forth that are not defined by or are physical objects and/or persons (example animist-spirit of a chair, spirit of the a tree, spirit of a human). Basically, invisible but you know and have experienced your god(s), spirits, and/or so forth. So basically anyone from a Muslim to some Pagans can answer depending on how you associate spirit(s) or god(s) with the physical world. edit forgot: Christians who don't believe Christ as god. Same questions.

Question: Share your literal experiences with god(s)s, spirits, etc. What are or were your experiences? How do you know that your experiences were from your said god(s)s, spirits, and/or so forth-in other words, how did you differentiate the god(s) if you believe there is more than one or spirits that you chose or adopt in your faith and have experienced the gods as a result.

I put this in interfaith so there won't be debates. Debates are when you challenge each other's view and try to prove the opposite. Discussion involves agreeing, disagreeing, challenging without proving right or wrongs, and general conversation that may be sensitive in nature?

My answer?

I call spirits everyone of blood and history that are related to me (as souls of the deceased) and related to humanity (as spirits of the deceased since I don't know everyone's family member's who passed on and live as souls. Spirits is a collective reference). I get this from my mother. We saw souls of the deceased. I'd say spirit since we didn't know him.
Anyway, I talked about my experience with the soul who, a man, walked back and forth unstairs in our home. He had blue jeans and a white shirt. He was walking to the rest room. My mother talked about him as a regular person. My father thought she was cheating on him. The real estate lady who saw him never came back to the house-in shock. And so forth....

Another experience being held down by my wrists. It wasn't from the movies. It's like weights on top of you. No demons. No devil. Just someone holding you down.

Then my grandmother incident (or could be the spirits in general) saving me from getting hit by a car by pushing me back almost falling in the process.

How do I differentiate spirits from each other?
I don't. If the spirit of Yamaya came to me, she'd be a spirit just as my grandmother, and just as Christ (given he is human with a soul). I don't' know Yamaya. I'd like to get to know her given she is the spirit of the water and she is also the mother of everyone. I've always knew there was a spirit of creation (not confused with christian definition please just can't think of another word at the moment.) My grandmothers I have an intimate relationship with. Christ I had through the sacraments. I pay my respects so I know my grandmother is with me. It's an "African" thang. Very high on the spirits and ancestors.
What about you?

Trying to think, it doesn't have to be strictly literal like paranormal experiences that outsiders might define it is. More of a Spirit-ual experience. God(s), spirits, or otherwise.
Take your time. Not in a rush.

Atheist who don't believe in anything supernatural: I understand your views. If you'd like to reply, it could be a question and answer see something from another person's perspective.

Those who are exception to the rules. I understand you don't define things the way I do. Think of a similar word that means the same thing instead of saying it doesn't apply to you. Maybe it does if you look deeper into it and find a word that fits how you see things. May be not.

Hindu and other religions I'm not familiar with the terminology, so I'll be asking a lot of questions if you are talking about the god(s) of your faith.

Muslim, Jewish, Bahai, Christian, (those who believe in god is not Christ), very interested in knowing how you see god.

Jewish: Instead of defining god. Just share your experience please.

god's mercy and love is extreme and infinite.
there are 114 chapters in the holy quran that 113 chapters from it, starts with this very beautiful verse:
in the name of god the most compassionate the most merciful.
the goal of creation is devine mercy according to verse 119 of chapter 11 in the holy quran.
in chapter 2, verse 186 we read:
And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near; I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so they should answer My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way.

in chapter 4, verse174 and 175, we read:
O people! surely there has come to you manifest proof from your Lord and We have sent to you clear light.
Then as for those who believe in Allah and hold fast by Him, He will cause them to enter into His mercy and grace and guide them to Himself on a right path.
in chapter 6, verse 54, we read:
And when those who believe in Our communications come to you, say: Peace be on you, your Lord has ordained mercy on Himself, [so] that if any one of you does evil in ignorance, then turns after that and acts aright, then He is Forgiving, Merciful.

in chapter 11, verse 90, we read:

And ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him; surely my Lord is Merciful, Loving-kind.
in chapter 39, verse 53 the all merciful god addressed his servants with kind word and says:
Say: O my servants! who have acted extravagantly against their own souls, do not despair of the mercy of Allah; surely Allah forgives the faults altogether; surely He is the Forgiving the Merciful.

Thank you. Would god be an entity whose characteristics are love and compassion or is he love and compassion (and mercy...) himself?

I'm not too familiar of how to read the Quran in context; so, you'd need to paraphrase. edit I got ya on your other post.

Your premise might indicate that you have almost no idea about ''Christian'' traditional theology, ; or, it could just mean that you don't wan't christians to participate, for some other reason?

These beautiful words best describe my spiritual experience :

At the gate of the garden,
some stand and look within, but do not care to enter.
Others step inside, behold its beauty, but do not penetrate far.
Still others encircle this garden, inhaling the fragrance of the flowers;
and having enjoyed its full beauty, pass out again by the same gate.
But there are always some who enter,
and becoming intoxicated with the splendor of what they behold,
remain for life to tend the garden." Abdul-Baha

Um. Okay? :( This tone of voice is different.

It is clear: Christians who do not believe Jesus as god.

Those that do would have a different perspective on the answer because they will have not only a spiritual reference to god but a physical one. I am not looking for physical connections so, for example, a Pagan who sees everything as gods would not be appropriate to my purpose. Because a Pagan who does is associating physical things to spiritual just as Christians.

I'm just asking those who believe in god(s), the spirit(s), and/or anyone (or thing?) literally invisible.

Christian theology has nothing to do with the fact any physical thing as or interconected with the spiritual while influence the answer that I am going for. It is also not an abrahamic question.

Ok...it seems like there is a lot of question as to what would actually be the entity, or whatever, if your using a quija board, for example, /and you don't know for sure what's ''talking'' to you, or whatever.
Anyways, merely trying to clarify that

I guess it could be any paranormal spirit. I hope that's not interpreted with what I'm going for. More those who believe in religious (or like term) god(s), spirit(s), etc that have no physical attributes at all to them.

Not all abrahamic or ''christian'' religious experiences are going to involve a deity with form. Hence, why i asked why you didn't want answers from Christians

If they don't believe Jesus is god, any Christian can answer regardless of their religious experiences. It wouldn't be Christianity if there were no deity present that's why I said god(s), spirit(s), etc. Not all abrahamic. Just the physical nature of Jesus and objects etc will influence the answers of the experiences of those who believe in god(s), spirit(s), etc without dependence on physical means.

A few months ago, I did a ritual to contact the Demon Amdusias. Amdusias is associated with music, and my intention was to incorporate some of his energy into my own psyche. I simply turned the lights out and read a prayer with his sigil in front of me. Nothing happened.

However, a few minutes later, I sat down and started reading more about Amdusias. Then, I saw a flash of bluish light in mid air in front of me. It looked a lot like the flash from a lightning strike, but it was concentrated into a small area, and it was not followed by thunder. About a minute later, another flash occured. A few more occurred, and I went to bed.

When laying on the couch trying to get to sleep, I heard a loud, motorcycle like rumble. It sounded a little like thunder, but it was long and drawn out like a motorcycle engine. Because it was 4:30 AM at this point, I'd doubt that anyone was driving a motorcycle. I could not get to sleep, so I ended up staying up all night listening to Pantera and connecting very well with the music.

The next few days, I wrote a string of great songs, and I'm still writing songs much better than I used to.

The interesting thing is that I did not feel Amdusias's energy like I did during my many experiences with Satan, which I may talk about later.

Question: Share your literal experiences with god(s)s, spirits, etc. What are or were your experiences? How do you know that your experiences were from your said god(s)s, spirits, and/or so forth-in other words, how did you differentiate the god(s) if you believe there is more than one or spirits that you chose or adopt in your faith and have experienced the gods as a result..

Gosh... where do I start?

I've seen and experienced a lot of gods, angels, spirits, ghosts, demons fallen angels, to the point where I've had to go on antipsychotic medications. I've experienced a Universal God called 'Father', two times, I've seen Jesus once (when I was transported to heaven once), I have experienced other gods but I don't know their names. I am a panentheistic polytheistic Christian. I do know the names of some of the darker beings I've met - Jezebel, Hades, the anti-Christ spirit, they are not fun believe me.

How do I know? I'm not sure, I can just read a spirit's 'signature', maybe it's a gift. I can feel what they are. A lot of spirits lie actually so it takes real discernment to know what's real/false. I've had plenty of darker beings come to me pretending to be beings of love and light and unfortunately this is quite common.
