I haven't seen the film yet, but this excerpt of the ending sequence would make it all worth while to me; Darth Vader kicking butt utilizing his saber skills and the power of the dark side.

Yes, he was the real star of the movie.
Hmmm....the writers had a pro-robot anti-human bias.
But even so they killed off him along with all the other new characters.
