'Stay the Hell Out': Georgia Official Warns Marjorie Taylor Greene As Election Probe Begins

'Stay the Hell Out': Georgia Official Warns Marjorie Taylor Greene As Election Probe Begins (msn.com)

Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts has warned Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene to "stay the hell out" after the state's election board unanimously approved a bipartisan panel to review the county's election operations.

A new law in Georgia requires a 3-person bipartisan panel to review the election processes across the state, and they're starting in Fulton County (Atlanta).

As debate over voting rights heat up across the country, a controversial new law in Georgia has forced the state's Election Board, which currently has a 3-1 GOP majority, to set up a three-person review panel to probe local election performance and processes, starting in Fulton County—which is largely Democratic and the state's most populous county

"It's all about the big lie and preparing voters for the 2022 elections," Pitts told CNN Saturday. "If they can continue to sow doubt, any doubt, in the minds of voters, they think that's going to be to their advantage in 2022, and also in 2024, when it's expected that former President Donald Trump will try to make a return."

Pitt defended Fulton County's handling of the 2020 election and expressed confidence that the panel will not find evidence of "any orchestrated effort to defraud the people and the voters."

"As of this morning, no one has come forward with any credible evidence and I've been involved in a lot of elections," he said. "We know that our elections were open, they were fair and they were transparent."

State, local and federal officials from both sides of the political aisle have repeatedly said that there was no evidence of widespread voter fraud in the 2020 election in any state.

Pitt slammed the review as "partisan politics at its worst," telling CNN he has warned Greene and Florida Representative Matt Gaetz, who are both closely aligned with Trump, to stay away from the county's election review process.

"They're sticking their noses in the Fulton County business. They have nothing to do with Fulton County and I told them to 'stay the hell out of Fulton County, you have nothing to do with us,'" he said.

Georgia lawmakers are able to request a performance review of local elections under SC 202, the state's new election legislation. Republicans did so in July.

If the panel discovers wrongdoing, the election board would be able to install a temporary administrator to take charge of the county's elections.

Local and state Democrats have condemned the process, calling it a partisan tactic to limit their power and discourage their voters in one of the most diverse counties in the state, which includes most of Atlanta.

I have a feeling that next year's midterm elections will be a complete mess.

They have to cheat, to win, and they know it. So a-cheating they will go. All across the country.

But never fear, we lost our democracy decades ago when we allowed the politicians to make bribery legal. All we're losing now is the illusion that our votes mattered.

Chaos seems to be what MAGA republicans want. If there's going to be no respect for citizens casting their votes, and letting votes guide our governance, then there's going to be revolution in the future.

...a supreme court decision which can be reversed.
The SC was ruling on the legality of what the congress and the senate had already done. On what the citizenry they represent had allowed them to do, and could have stopped them from doing if we’d cared enough to bother. It was a bad decision after a series of bad decisions. One that will not be overturned because we are now in favor of appointing biased, crooked judges to the courts just to get our way. So now we have biased, crooked judges on the court, and we are all clambering to get more of them appointed.

It can be overturned, and if the judges are crooked then we can bribe them to do the right thing.

We don’t want them to do the right thing. We want them to do our bidding. And they are. That’s why they’re crooked. The corruption began with us. And only we can stop it. But we have to understand what corruption is, and want to stop it. So far, neither is the case.

The same MTG who said recently that Biden is a P.O.S. Class act.

Yeah I came across that blurb this morning myself. It appears she was suspended from Twitter for a week for spreading misinformation regarding COVID. She also made a visit to Iowa, perhaps testing the waters a bit.

It seems they just have one loose cannon after another.

We should. We voted for crooked politicians specifically to put crooked judges on the courts. And they have. But you're right. We think that's how 'democracy' works. We are selfish idiots voting to destroy our own country. And now we have.

I don't think anything has changed. When was the last time that supreme court decisions weren't political and democracy here didn't work that way? Its been a bumpy ride all the way.

Back when we had a middle class, because our politicians weren't 24-7 hand puppets for billionaires. Believe it or not, it was not always this way. Once upon time politicians were shamed out of office and even occasionally imprisoned for what they now do, routinely, and with no shame whatever.

You mean that very, very extremely brief period just after Lincoln died?

This is not the History that I am aware of. We have a history of big money in government going way, way back. For example this got the civil war going: the big money versus the big money. Remember when Roosevelt started trust-busting? He was only able to do that because things had gotten so out of hand. Things were awful. Railroads once swayed the government. Big Oil has never stopped. We had murderous coal companies for a long time going around taking away people's land, fooling them. They ruined most of West Virginia, and nobody stopped them. Its always been this way.
