Stopping travel for assumed abortion access?

Guys, help me out here. Because this just flew by me in our international news (read the internet lol.)
In Texas, there are proposals for suing women travelling across the border, if suspected of seeking abortion access. Which, I’m not going to lie, is disgusting on the face of it.
I thought this went against free travel, as protected in your Constitution that Americans always claim to love so much?
Sorry for my snark, but I’m just appalled. I don’t care which party is involved, I don’t care about US politics. I can only respond to what is reported as it’s reported. And this is disgusting, regardless of the stance on the issue. Sorry, just being honest.

(I apologise if there’s political bias in this article. Not American so not familiar enough with all the sources.)

If you are wondering why many of us are utterly outraged at the Death Party these days, you've learned why.

I do not use the word "evil" often or lightly, but what the Death Party has been doing to women's fundamental human rights is nothing short of evil. What makes this even more disgusting is that this is the same party that claims to be championing women's safety by attacking LGBTQ+ people. No. No, you don't get to claim you are on the side of women when you push agendas to literally make women slaves to the state on the most personal and intimate matter imaginable. These folks are MONSTERS.

Yes, the Trump era has normalized all manner racist, misogynistic, and homophobic efforts, and, yes, it is thoroughly disgusting. Let's hope that the specter of such efforts incentivizes many to fight back in the voting booth.

The right are misogynist first and inconsistent second. They love freedoms so long as its heteronormative white christian freedoms.

None of this likely would have happened had authoritarian Democrats not started limiting and destroying people's freedoms using the nanny state.

Authoritarian Democrats sounds like an oxymoron. Democrats, traditionally, at least, are advocates of democracy.
Doesn't a nanny state imply a government separate from The People? Isn't such a government a Right-wing phenomenon?

And this is concurrent with Mexico enshrining the right to abortion into their constitution. It took Texas about 3 nanoseconds to threaten any woman that is 'caught' driving to Mexico while pregnant. It's Handmaids Tale.....
It's Churchill's "Iron Curtain," restricting free movement.

I do it to you.....
I have no idea what two dots you even want me to connect. And I genuinely have no idea how you have connected the two ideas listed above together. This isn't a gotcha I literally don't know how you came to this conclusion and am asking.

He thinks things like a democratic vote to do away with free, crap bags at the grocery store and voting for stricter environment regulations is a nanny state overreach.
Amd things like this as retaliation.

One needs to remember that those fascists are a minority. In very right wing Kansas 60% voted for keeping the abortion laws the saw as they were, which is pretty much no limitations. They exist in states where they managed to get abortion bans passed as laws, but even the antiabortionists seem to disagree with these people. It is a leveraged attempt to expand the law. What is likely to happen is that if the Democrats play this wisely they will not give too much opposition to this idiocy until the 2024 elections draw near. People have a short memory span at times. One needs to hit them with the proabortion message in the last month of the campaign so that they remember who they are voting for and why. Too early and people will make excuses for voting for the fascists once again.

I thought Texas was Republican?
And if this is a retaliation then that’s just beyond sick.
To literally punish pregnant women for daring to travel like some kind of malicious dictator as retaliation? That’s even more appalling if true!!

I’ll freely admit that all of our politicians are absolute disgusting dregs. But even they wouldn’t go that far. Sheesh!

Some don't like Democrats no matter what and will say anything and everything against them for stopping people from building factories in residential areas, for caring for the poor, for acting to preserve lives, anything that protects the majority against the willful and "I don't give a **** what this does to you" contingent.
