Deuteronomy 25:11 and 12

Ok, this one seems pretty extreme to me as well as just bizzare. Did this happen enough to require a law? Did Hebrew women go around grabbing their husbands enemies by the genitals? If so why was it considered such a crime? I thought all was fair in love and war. :sarcastic

Feel free to offer up any other strange and bizarre scriptures for discussion and debate. :D

Trey of Diamonds,
This law was given to the Israelites to impress on all of them the importance of the way God valued the gift of Procreation. The organs of procreation were no to be misused. The very same way God views procreation today!!!
The term in Greek, Porneia, which is usually translated Fornication, actually means much more than just sexual relations between non-married individuals. The Greek word Porneia means ANY sexual relations between non-married people, or ANY sexual relations between persons not married to each other. So the term means homosexual acts, fornication, Adultery, Sodomy, Bestiality, or any other illicite sexual conduct outside or inside the marriage arrangement.
Jehovah God, the Almighty Creator, has the right to determine what is best for His creation. The fact is God has determined that people who continue in these acts will not be in His Kingdom, 1Cor 6:9,10, Gal 5:19-21, Eph 5:3-5.

Deuteronomy was a temple policy book. Even now some churchs have a book of tenets detailing what they believe in and certain "rules".

Deuteronomy was written by a Jewish religious leader as a means of telling others what is acceptable and what is not. Men were in charge but once in a while a woman would disagree here and there so the rules were written to let women know to keep their place.

Once it was accepted religious law the punishments could be extreme because it wasn't seen as man's law but God's.

Trey of Diamonds,
This prohibition was given so that mankind would keep in mind the great gift of Procreation, that God had given to humans. The genitals were not to be abused or used in any way that would show disregard for Procreation.
Probably because this law was written down for the Israelites, it was never an issue that needed to be judged.
Everyone must show proper respect for procreation!!! Abortions were murder, and anyone that killed, even an unborn child was subject to the law of retribution, eye for eye, life for life, Ex 21:22-24. Law of Talionis, Lex Talionis.

Yea there are many good laughs throughout the book, the sad thing is that many take the laugh as being serious.

If two people(souls) are arguing/striving and the woman(mind/subconscious) of one of the husbands(spirit/conscious) has it in them to attack by surprise/mystery/secretly... That woman's hand shall be cut off(separation of mind back into duality and no longer whole or one) and shouldn't feel pity by their actions.

Minds screwing with minds, blindly and secretly. Like a backstab. Love your neighbor as yourself. This is the entire law butchered and translated poorly numerous times in English.
