Ya know what I find odd? All the millions of religious people in the world have beliefs according to a book. Hardly none of them have their own ideas about how we got here and where we’re going.

Life is hard. Spiritual thought requires time and effort, and having kids, working a job, and paying bills usually takes priority. Everything under the sun has also already been explored philosophically for the most part, so there's really no new ground to cover that hasn't also already been covered

That said, I have devoted quite a lot of thought to religious ideas and philosophy myself. I learned a lot of useful things, too. I wouldn't recommend it for most folks, though. People who've experienced religious trauma can definitely benefit from exploring other spiritual philosophies imo

For most people an idea would be new unless they have read all the ideas written, which I doubt

I don't think that's true

And nobody just reads a book, everyone reads the same thing differently as everyone is different

Nothing my eye, Something for sure
ive always tried to form my own ideas about this. And i try to get as much input as i can from human knowledge. Honestly one can only go so far before they realize there's much that'll probably never be known in this lifetime about it. What i'm convinced of is some kind of non living intelligence pervades all through existence. There may be a source of such intelligence, but i think the source reality is the real substrate of existence and it embodies all qualities and attributes of all souls, but has no soul of it's own. Its merely the canvas on which life forms can have existence, qualities and attributes. There must be an unconditioned foundational eternal reality of intelligence and life capacity. i'm convinced intelligence is a natural property at the root of existence. i analogy it to an algorithm that makes it's own goals, and adapts as it goes. i don't claim Brahman, but perhaps it's the opposite of Brahman in most ways. There may be an eternal source or sources that have agency that produces this substrate.
