Students Are Pushing Back Against Gender Ideology In Their Schools

We should be amplifying their voices, not drowning them out.
Yeah, and that includes those of us whose political and social views aren't leftist/liberal. I'm sick of being gaslighted and disrespected by "allies" who aren't even part of the community acting like we all share the same views, or that we all feel oppressed or victimized. I think we're better off without "allies" for the most part, to be honest. Y'all only showed up recently, anyway.

Yes, it is a reasonable equation. The ideas being pushed back against are based on acceptance of a traditionally maligned group as part of the community. Consider that pushback against symbols of pride for being part of that group is inherently pushback against that group itself.
Or it is a bunch of nonsense. A person can have a desire to be called a particular pronoun but has no right to demand that others do so.

Both are examples of naive, gullible kids manipulated and indoctrinated with irrational bigotry.

Conservatives need to leave kids alone.
Conservatives aren't the ones pushing for puberty blockers and "genital reassignment surgery" for children.
Leave the kids alone!

I think people are just sick and tired of hearing about it all the time on something they don't give a **** about.
Honestly, Pride sucks, anyway. I went to the parade and festival here yesterday. It's just some corporate, overpriced nonsense with partisan political crap thrown in, much of which doesn't even have anything to do with LGBT people. (I thought it was ironic that they had pro-abortion activists there, when there ain't much baby making going on there.) It's also very boring. I don't feel any community from it or represented by it. I don't even know what it's supposed to represent, even.

It definitely shouldn't be in schools, either. It's clearly a political thing at this point.

I'm with the students here. It's very inappropriate what this teacher was doing.

Of course those who are LGBT can belong to any corner of the political spectrum, but aligning with those who view and treat you as subhuman doesn't make any sense to me.

Both the extremes of the right and left treat us like garbage. The leftist activists aren't our friends, either. They want to erase transsexual people, throw out biological reality, push this on kids as activists in schools and punish anyone who doesn't agree. So neither side are really our friends, and both should shut up until we learn to be logical about the issue. Because everyone is just screaming nonsense into the void and not listening to others.

I'd much prefer to be talking about social housing programmes, national investment funds, workplace democracy etc but often I find the political debate and commentary are dominated by trans issues. I think it is important that cis people provide protection and solidarity for our trans siblings against a pretty dark right wing campaign of vilification. However, I suspect that getting caught up in that argument is the intention of the project.

Would you prefer is "leftists activists" took a step back?

You must prefer to shame kids to suicide, because you don't seem to support mental health, either.

There's always been members of every marginalized groups hoping to be 'the good one,' pulling up the ladder behind them for anyone who doesn't meet their standard of in group. Like, you're mad that people (both in and out the trans community) think being a politically conservative trans is self-defeating and harmful, but you trash talk the same community constantly, going on about how you dont identify with it and say you don't want to be part of it due to the sheer number of people who dont hold the same ideas you do. And you want to exclude anyone lower on the totem pole than you, including nonbinary trans or trans who don't have the same idea of passing. Like... are you surprised you don't get a glowing reception?

Puberty blockers and genital surgery has ever been available for kids on conservative terms. They just don't believe gender dysphoria exists or has relevent medical treatment. I (and medical science) does. And while I would never suggest someone who doesn't need them use them, I would sooner ban routine circumcision than ban the availability of those treatments.

He's being honest. Saying what he wants to say, not what others think he should say. That IMO is what matters.

Does this apply to other medical procedures, like surgery to fix cleft palates or clubfeet? Should those children be "left alone" as well?hG
You can't refute something so......
Change the subject!
Giving children puberty blockers and mutilating their bodies is wrong. It is evil.
