Stupidity

Just an interesting video I found. Thought I would drop it here just in case you're curious. You don't have to watch it. It's not very long.

Enjoy. ;)
Stupidism is definitely a kind of social movement. To me it looks like this: person thinks / feels that the ideas inherited from the family or community are the ‘right’ ideas. Anyone who represents or defends these ideas is wholly good, anyone who attacks or disagrees with them is wholly bad. Some people of this sort are just continually frustrated that those ‘other people’ can’t see how evil they are, others dedicate a lot of time and energy into creating superficial narratives and arguments, co-opting skimmed ideas, ideas they haven’t understood, from the ‘enemy’ camp as ‘evidence’ proving their ideas are the only right ones. The latter sort often believe they are on some sort of mission to ‘save’ those who can’t see they are wrong.

The latter sort often believe they are on some sort of mission to ‘save’ those who can’t see they are wrong.

Reminds me of this:

"Level 2 – Conventional Morality
Conventional morality is the adolescent phase of moral development focused on societal norms and external expectations to discern right from wrong, often grounded in tradition, cultural practices, or established codes of conduct.

We internalize the moral standards of valued adult role models at the conventional level (most adolescents and adults).

Authority is internalized but not questioned, and reasoning is based on the group’s norms to which the person belongs.

A social system that stresses the responsibilities of relationships and social order is seen as desirable and must influence our view of right and wrong.

So, people who follow conventional morality believe that it’s important to follow society’s rules and expectations to maintain order and prevent problems.

For example, refusing to cheat on a test is a part of conventional morality because cheating can harm the academic system and create societal problems.

We'll see if the number of stupid people in the US is greater than the number of rational people in November.

One thing I noticed is that the maker of this video seems to be associating stupidity with general human spitefulness, such as causing harm or destruction without any gain to oneself (or possibly incurring losses). It seems to be presented as a kind of emotional defect, not necessarily an intellectual malady.

Stupidity in the sense that mental function is impaired.
Not by low intelligence, but by prejudice & tribal thinking
that inhibits ability to observe, understand, & reason.

You didn’t know? It’s Megatron 488. Calculates every decision. Always advises wholewheat toast for breakfast and routine masturbation.
I'm sold, but only if it picks chatgpt as it's running mate.

Do they need one?
Rarely was it so obvious that voting for one candidate would be stupid (in the sense of the OP).

So basically what you're saying is: there are stupid Americans, and some slightly less stupid Americans.

I have no problem with that. :D

The curse of complacency and self assuredness like the Romans were just before the fall.

Nah mate, those two have history. Suffice it to say that 01010100 01101000 01100001 01110100 00100000 01100110 01110101 01100011 01101011 01100101 01110010 00100000 01100100 01101111 01101110 01100101 00100000 01110111 01110010 01101111 01101110 01100111.

*Gasp* I had no idea.

That would explain why Megatron 488 kept saying 01001110 01101111 00100000 01100011 01101111 01101101 01101101 01100101 01101110 01110100 00100000 01101111 01101011 01100001 01111001 during the interview

That campaign slogan would work well with a lot of people I know:

"Dude! I swear every time one of his campaign ads comes on the TV the microchip they injected with my covid vaccine starts vibrating!"

The USA has many parallels to the Romans. Superpower, built on slavery, constantly at war, no culture, lead poisoning, started as a republic, etc.
