Sueing Instagram?

That is a good policy. But one has to remember. Instagram is not omniscient. They rely on people reporting such sites.
That is true. The question is how common is this on the platform and is the platform actively pushing this content and not doing anything about it? I dont know. If they are doing nothing then they dont care about their own rules and need to be held accountable for it.

I have no idea either. There could be thousands of users that urge that on others.

I just realized this isn't in general debates like i thought it would be. I wasnt trying to debate but i am going to keep that in mind now.

Those are very difficult questions to answer. How much of Instagram's resources do they need to use in policing themselves? There are so many accounts out there that it is dubious that they can do so in a meaningful way. To me it seems that they would have to rely on people reporting such sites. And we all know how hard it is to evade those strenuous blocking devices that porn sites use:

Oh drat!! I am too young to see it. What can I do?

Though no Instagram fan I do worry about how this sort of lawsuit can affect internet usage in general.
All of the things you are bringing up are facts of the case. What is reasonable precautions for instagram to take?
But that is an issue for the court to decide. We can surely discuss it and try to parse out the details based on whatever information is accessible, but my comment was directed at the dismissal of a remedy for potential plaintiffs without knowing the facts of the case.

too many are quick to jump on the bandwagon of complaining about how our society is too litigious or people don’t want ant to take responsibility when they don’t know the facts. If there is a duty, breach and injury caused by that breach then the lawsuit is about taking responsibility.

Can you say " thought police?"

What if I consider certain herbs healthy because they work? But officially they aren't considered by the CDC or whoever as " safe"?
What you end up with is a culture where free speech is removed from anyone using any kind of alternative medicine.
If your advice is causing harm, you should take responsibility for that.

The question was whether I should be allowed to post something not officially approved by the official agencies. Nothing about causing harm.
But you are failing to understand that there is no issue if there is no “harm” caused.

The same thing is true for instagram.

Not necessarily true. Who gets to decide what information is harmful?
Instagram has every right to enforce rules and have what they want on their platform. They ban pro Ana content. Thus you shouldn't be allowed to post on it cuz they have said they dont want it on their platform.
