Yeah, I'm sick of them, too.

I still don't care for mosquitoes much

I've been using a 1/8 mix of Tabasco sauce and water as tick repellent for the last couple of months and I haven't seen a single tick.

I think it works against mosquitoes too, but I don't know for sure because I keep forgetting to put it on my arms too (I usually just spray my legs with it because that's what ticks usually latch on).

It's the cayenne in the Tabasco sauce, it's been proven to kill ticks and keep them from latching on.

I saw some big stinking ticks today...

I'm not a summer person, so I had to think on this one.
Watching the crops grow
Days with a heat index below 98°
Afternoon rain showers
Scorts & flip-flops
Air conditioning!!!!!! (I don't know how I survived my first 30 years!)

I wouldn't mind starting a fire in the alley. :)

Perfect. My old and moldy couch from the basement will be drop-shipped, literally, in the alley tomorrow. Listen for the thud. You can either sit on it, or burn it. Your choice.

I'll just cover the property.
I just use a $4 spray bottle that I got from Amazon.

I also have one of these that someone just threw away:

But believe it or not the $4 spray bottle actually works better (I guess that's why they threw the solo sprayer out).

Summer's at its height for those in the Northern Hemisphere.

This is by far my favorite season. I can wade into a lake without concern for temperature, vegetables are growing, animals are everywhere...

What's your favorite thing about summer?
unfortunately, when summer is over. Since living in Texas, I find I long for fall. It becomes so hot here that I can only be out early in the morning or after sunset. This year has not yet become terrible, but the severe heat will come. In my past when I lived up north summer meant swiming in the ocean. I loved being outside when the summer storms would come and feel that exhilarating wind preceding the rain that smelled of a thunderstorm.

I'll probably sit on it while I figure out the best way to burn it.

And then I'll get too lazy to do it.

So I'll just keep sitting, and swatting mosquitos.

Once my family had a week on the Kent coast. In the evening we would walk into the village were there was a lovely old fashioned pub and we would sit at the tables outside drinking our traditional ale and admire the beautiful old Norman church opposite. As the the sun went down we would watch the many and varied moths as they danced around the lights.

So simple but absolute heaven to me.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.

I loved summer in Germany. It would stay light till nearly 11pm, and start getting light again around 4 am. I remember sitting outside too at outdoor cafes till late, late, late in the evening, along the canals, and I remember that fall actually began in September. I loved it.

I grew up in a little village where there were about 8 people in my age group in total. The warm summer nights when we could sit out as long as we liked were lovely. 15 years old and in love with life. We'd play cards, drink a few beers, smoke a few joints and make fun of each other. Lying in the grass, staring at the stars, speculating about the world and our place in it.

I always loved that part of the sky never darkened during the summer.
