As an aside, now that I mention Mortal Kombat I remember my mum being none too pleased with me playing it. It seems almost comical now but that game was graphic for the time. Albeit I was running a few years behind.
I'll never forget the controversy/parents worst nightmare that was Mortal Kombat. And for its day, it was pretty graphic and gory. It was fun, when I got to play, because at home it was a hell no and I was forbidden from playing it.

Mum didn't like me playing it but never did anything to stop me. In fact I would often play with dad who almost always played Sub-Zero.

Was the opposite with my mom and I. We'd play one of those MK games on the N64 and she would play as Jade, constantly beating me with button mashing while I tried to figure out the combos. I used to get so pissed about it and she thought it was hilarious. I would say I didn't want to play with her anymore. Lmao.
