I almost live in Canada already but I'm definitely staying. The politics are just as bad. Canadians just take it better. Besides Trump isn't a lawyer.

I'm thinking about it. But it's not really a difficult decision for me, Canada is only a 20 minute drive from here. I was thinking about looking for work in Toronto regardless of the election. That way I could be halfway between my family in Michigan and my wife's in New York.

As long as a president doesn't try to change term limits or start swapping out the military leadership (rapidly), threaten congress, the senate or the judiciary. If any of those things happen then its truly time to leave in a big hurry. Soon as they want an extra term or say that they are needed for a third term and that the term limits need to change, then leave asap.

I remember that for the past 8 years I have been hearing people swear that Obama was planning to take over. Liars! They probably don't even remember saying it, but I remember.

Trump might be a balancing opposing force on Fed issues a fresh approach to innovation , the guy does have a passion an looks patriotic to America . He would be to busy with the problems he will inherit to worry about more .

True that. I recall quite a bit of talk of leaving the country if Obama was elected. But alas! There wasn't much follow-up once he was elected. I suspect the talk of leaving the country if Trump is elected is just wishful thinking, too.

If I was inclined to immigrate, I'd have moved abroad sometime after Bush invaded Iran. For me to leave if Trump becomes president, things will need to be pretty bad. Unless, of course, I discover Canada has superior strip clubs. Then all bets are off.

Speaking as a foreigner (in other words a probable threat to civilisation), I would like to move to another planet.
Americans probably have no idea how they appear to the rest of the world now. But US politics is now owned by lunatics - and has been for some time. And unfortunately the lunatics control an arsenal which is horrifying and so expensive that it has tied up most of the wealth collectively generated for many decades.
Whoever is president, the TPP will go ahead. This will accelerate the corporate imprisonment of various nations, including my home, Australia.
Already Australia has had one Prime Minister deposed by the CIA/NSA, and has been dragged into various slaughters to prop up the plutocracy represented by Trump.
Canuckistan ? Andromeda would still be too close for comfort.
