1. Realization of the Four Principles of Reality
impermanence, emptiness-anatta, stress-suffering, impurity
2. Realization that more desire brings more suffering
3. Realization that greed does not lead to satisfaction
4. Realization that diligence destroys laziness
5. Realization that ignorance is the cause of stress, narrow-mindedness, and samsara
6. Realization that poverty creates hatred and anger--practice impartial generousity (love your enemies)
7. Realization that getting caught up (by the 5 desires) in worldly matters leads to difficulites
8. Realization that everyone is suffering, and we may suffer while trying to help others.
