Very sensible.

A blanket ban on "artificial" pesticides seems unjustified and damaging. Nobody, to my knowledge, has made any case that all pesticides that are "artificial" must, ipso facto, be bad.

A ban on selected classes of pesticide, whether "artificial" or not, based on evidence of harm, seems a far more reasonable way to go.

It's kind of head scratching. Synthetic pesticides are made custom to kill pests while protecting surrounding foliage and even mammals.

Maybe standards are too low.

Sometimes that backfires big time.

Cane toads became pests after being introduced into Australia to control destructive beetles in Queensland's sugarcane crops. Cane toads are capable of poisoning predators that try to eat them and they continue to spread across Australia.

I'm guessing artificial and synthetic would be interchangeable.

Natural pesticides refer to products that are derived strictly from sources in nature with little to no chemical alteration. Synthetic pesticides are products that are produced from chemical alteration.

All artificial pesticides are not considered bad, but some have indeed given cause for concern showcasing the need for better regulations and inspections in this regard.

There are studies on the environmental impact of pesticides and so on...
