Technical question for anyone who's got a moment...

I installed AIM the other day, and realized a few hours afterward that my... Curses, I can't think of the technical term for it. My thing that makes the noises and music no longer makes the noises or the music. (Speakers? Sound system? Why can't I think of it?!) Has anyone else ever had this happen?

It looks like the power is turned on okay, and I haven't been fiddling with the wires. Can someone come over here to Iowa and hit it for me? (Or, failing that, offer some suggestions? )

Sound card? I'm not much help on the technical front, sorry.

Is there an icon that looks like a speaker at the bottom of your screen on the taskbar, Feathers? If there isn't you can go Start -> Control Panel -> Sounds and Audio Devices and check to make sure nothing got muted by mistake.

Sometimes it just seems to randomly do that, I have no clue why. I think there must be a ctrl (random key) combination that triggers it. Glad I could help!
