I ran into @1137 and heard about the setian path. I was just wondering if you all would care to tell me a bit about your religion?
Well, Setianism is a surprisingly complicated metaphysical system, especially by today's standards. This makes it near impossible to give a full picture. I'll just start rambling, you can ask questions, others will chime in, and we'll go from there!
Setianism is a type of platonic henotheism, rooted in the Theory of Forms and the mysteries of Egypt that inspired them. The central deity is Set, whose name means confuser/trickster, separator/isolator, and drunkenness. He is the oldest, complete dark god to appear in human religious texts, where he was originally head of the gods, but was knocked down and perverted by the religion of Osiris.
Set is the Form of isolated consciousness, meaning all things with isolate consciousness (like human beings) partake in the Form of Set. Most religions have demonized or rejected this aspect of ourselves, with more than a little guidance from Osirian politics. We fear our free will, our inner strength and self responsibility. And so most religions, right hand path religions, put the order of the cosmos above the conscious will.
Setian morality is one of equal opportunity and earned outcome. Everyone has an equal chance, but not all things end up being equal. So long as we don't have people starving in the streets or slaved to unavoidable bills, there can be as much wealth divide as deserved. Kind of a spin on Rawlsian ethics.
The central goal of Setianism revolves around the possibly pre-writing verb, Xeper, meaning "to come into being." The Setian seeks to attain high levels of being based on personal free will, and help those who desire it do the same.
I rather like where this is going. I have a few questions.
How does one become a Setian and learn more?
As far as the wealth divided that isn't exactly socialism Is it?
So what kind of rules would a Setian follow if any?
To become a Setian one simply dedicates themselves to and follows the path of Setianism. Rawlsian ethics are not socialism no, they're kind of a mix between between socialism and free market capitalism. I'd also say that along with Rawls the morality and ethics of Thelema play an important role as well. The only real rules the Setian follows is the dedication to self evolution, the refusal to subjugate the self or others to the gods, nature, the state, etc. The Setian seeks Xeper and if anything, only "worships" individual uniqueness and potential.

Interesting, I guess it's time to do some reading.
Side note, because of you 'm playing through dark souls 1 , then scholar and 3 again. And demon's souls of course.
You playing on Pc with steam or console? I would suggest it might be fun to go through 3 again with somebody if you have it on Pc.Lol I just played through dark souls yesterday and am starting 3 today. Honestly I'm convinced the Scholar is the final one and 3 is in the middle.
And we have a nice reading list to look through here If you want: Library of the Ancient Serpent

Thelema is something I am at least vaguely familiar with. A lot of what I have read so far reminds me of mystic versions of pagan and Abrahamic religions so far. Gnostic traditions as well
You *******! oh well .Yeah Crowley did make Thelema quite rhp. As a Setian I'm more interested in the moral aspects of it, not the metaphysical aspects. And console, sorry!
