Tempers running high...

Feathers in Hair

World's Tallest Hobbit
Hello, all! I was just realizing that my own actions have been a bit off lately (See the 'I am a horrible person thread, hehee) and have been noticing that a number of other people, especially those that are normally kind individuals, have been a bit tense. Although this might be generating from a certain area, it winds up causing us all to snap at each other and interpret otherwise innocent comments from other members as attacking remarks. (Or at least it has me, and I apologize for it.)

At this time, I want to remind the entire RF family how much I love them, and how they have all impressed me with their insight, wisdom and kindness. I humbly offer this as a gentle, anger-free area where we can have pillow fights, drink hot cocoa, and otherwise de-stress! (Maybe the kind MrsCaddero can bake us something? *puppy dog eyes*)

Yes Fethers, I think you have something there. I have been feeling a wee bit off lately, as one will notice in my most recent post on my difficulty with my belief system, ie; religion.

There must be some evil passing through that is perhaps touching all of us. Then again...wishing not to upset anyone, maybe not. Something is definately off. Is it the advent of winter? Not that winter is evil in any way, but I mean the change of the seasons, the taking away the light, so to speak.

After Christmas, the days will start getting longer--we'll be gaining light then, Martha! Maybe thats it--Christmas is a stressful time of year.

Everyday we gain a minute of daylight from 12/22/04 on. I think part of the stress is high expectations this time of the year. We are still just human, even though it's Christmas time. Some of us may experience an inner rebirth this time of year. Or maybe we won't and be disappointed. We expect people to be loving, but some are still mean. Families are brought together, who don't see each other all year long. Some of us don't think we have enough money for this season. The key to happiness during this season may to be don't expect anything and give what you can.

It will take me a while cause it has to be perfect.
Hard work on a meal takes time. But as you can see, I have provided
you with cookies and cocoa. That should hold you for a while.

Stress??? What stress??? We don't need no steeekin stress!!! :D

Sometimes it seems that we are besieged with a plethora of "little foxes" in our vineyard. They know just which buttons to push and seem to delight in pushing them repeatedly! Sometimes you feel the need to "just push back".

I think we all need to get together and watch "The Three Amigos" so we can watch the bad guy say "plethora" with his thick spanish accent. Andele, andele, ariba, ariba!!!

Curses, I've yet to see this movie! I wouldn't stand too close to someone with a heavy accent saying 'plethora', though! At least, not without an umbrella...

MrsC, you are such a sweet person! *sips the hot cocoa* So good!

And Bob, should we really combine water pistols with the cold weather? It's below freezing here, and it could wind up being a sword battle. :D

I completely agree that maybe it is the darkness affecting some of us. (At least me.) Gotta remember that the sun's coming back!

The lack of sun at this time of year makes me wish I could hibernate. Except for the feast days. I don't want to hibernate through any feasts.

I just noticed your new religion, Sunstone! I love it!

Do you have any connection to bears? My 'bear friends' (those with the totem animal of bear) tend to do the same thing. They also demand coffee!

*softly lobs a pillow at HelpMe, while also arming herself with a watergun*

I don't have any connnection to bears that I know of, Feathers. But then I haven't investigated whether there might be any connnection. Yes, I drink a lot of coffee. Often with cocoa in it.

One of my favourite insults (or curses, as the case may be), comes from this movie - "son of a motherless goat!" :p I use it at work so I don't offend the customers...they just laugh at me instead.

Certainly less offensive than the DAASism 'I hope your scrotum spontaneously explode.'
