Temples of Worship.

I have had the bounty in life from a young age to be able to visit many Temples dedicated to worshiping who I call God.

I thought it would be good to share some pictures of places of worship that help mankind pursue something greater than their own selves.

I came across this video on the Chile Baha'i Temple "Baha'i Temple in Chile on George Clarke's Amazing Spaces TV show" and it shows how we can be inspired to think outside our selves we we visit spaces for that purpose.

So on this post, please share Photos and Videos of Temples that inspire us to be more than our selves.

Consider offering across Faiths. Personally I have been in Buddhist, Hindu, Christian, Muslim and Baha'i places of worship (also some I am not sure of).

I look forward to see what inspires you.

P/S If you are inspired to post a great shot of nature, I also understand the motivation.

This was a special one for me, built as a Mosque and then became a Church.

What inspires me with the photo of Faith Tabernacle is that this is located in Nigeria, has a University, a bank, grocery stores, homes, security (in a very volatile Nigeria) and so much more... and wasn't accomplished through donations outside of Nigeria.

And the contrast between the Poor One, St Francis of Assisi, and the basilica built in his memory could not have been more profound

That is a great gathering :)

Now I see we need to join our hearts.

When I was in Italy, I could not help but think how this would invoke Heaven to those living in huts and hovels.

In my Faith, we are told wherever God is praised and Mentioned is a Temple.

As such I have prayed on land where I know a future Temple may be and know those prayers join with the prayers to come.

I see we join in heart, no matter when we pray to the source of our being.

So, as the OP asked, how does it inspire you?

Personally I try to feel what all these places represent. As such to me a small temple in one's own room, to the greatest temple built can have the same result, when we search out our heart.

The bigger the temple, one would hope that the greater level of unity is represented by its construction.

This is the best picture I could find of this one:

There's something about the simplicity in the design that really gets me here. It's a shame that there aren't more Satanic chapels.

This is an interesting tangent for me. Do you mind if I ask what would be a basic service? Do you have a link to a service?

It is indeed simple and structured in design.

I don't think the church was ever operational. It's similar to the Greater Church of Lucifer and the Church of Satan, which were both forced to close from public pressures, except this one never had a large enough membership to start their services. They only did initiation ceremonies, iirc, which they used their yard for.

Now there have been Satanic services I've attended digitally through online groups. They tend to mostly be presentations on magic. I did a service about the history of Satanic pacts and my opinion on when you should make one; my closing prayer was an English translation of the Les Litanies de Satan from Fleur du Mal. I'd imagine if the Satanic chapel structure caught on that that's what the services would mostly end up like. That's speculation, though, since it never substantiated itself.

Thanks for that information - I have always wondered of the positive virtues I could see in such and interesting choice of worship. I see it would still create such actions as strong bonds, strong oaths and strong convictions. You may be able to expand if you choose.

As I lived on Penang Island for 2 and a half years, I saw many amazing temples and celebrations, the next few posts are some that I visited.

The great way up Penang Hill was the Penang Hill Funicular Railway

We walked up and down a couple of times, but the treat was the railway.
