Terrorist Attacks in Israel

I'm in Israel right now, and I keep hearing about terrorist attacks by stabbing or shooting.

Am I hearing about this stuff because I'm here, or are you all hearing of these events. I'm asking because it seems like the kind of events which would normally already have a thread, but I couldn't find one.

In the past week there have been two shootings, 4 stabbings and one guy who ran over someone. ,

I have read numerous reports of escalating violence in the wake of the tragic arson terror attack, but I monitor the Israeli news on a daily basis. It was only yesterday that I saw anything about it on CNN. Stay safe.

One of the larger incidences received a bit of mainstream press coverage but most (including the stabbings, the girl shot at while in the sukkah, the two most recent rock attacks on cars) have been ignored.

Watched some of the Videos. The one at the market was probably the worst. Not only because two people were murdered but because of the actions of the various merchants nearby.

Quite sickening but considering history I shouldn't be surprised.

Stay safe dantech.

My daughter's seminary just announced that, as a security measure, students are forbidden to go into the Old City. I wrote them a letter about this. On one hand, I surely endorse security and want my child and others to be safe. But by stopping visiting the kotel, haven't we said "terror works"?

My sister in law is also in a seminary there, she left to stay with us for a while. It's a culture shock for her as she's never witnessed so many atrocities.

I find it shocking that mostly only Jews are hearing about these attacks.
Netanyahu seems to have been right during his UN speech. Deafening silence!

Is that even a question? They're all of the same background, and the motive has been the same for almost 70 years.

Yes, it was a question. There are those other than one particular ethnic group who kill people in that area.

As for motive: how would you characterise it?

Best I can tell, news stations such CNN have paid about as much attention to the current situation as it did to the arson death of Ali Saad Dawabsheh or the persistent and pervasive atrocity of the occupation.

I have found the same being true of the non-Israeli press not covering many or even most rocket launches from Gaza into Israel. It happens so often the press pretty much ignores it unless there's a larger-scale barrage.

But if Israel responds, that's far more apt to get covered-- go figgur. .
