Thanx For All The Frubals & Mentions While I Was Away!

BSM1

What? Me worry?
First, I attended Coolspring Power Museum June show in Coolspring PA.
I ran a 6" Rider Ericsson twin cylinder hot air engine I brought for the show.
I also ran a 35 HP Backus gas engine (about 4000 cu in, 10,000# weight)
which I have on loan there.

Then I picked up & delivered various machines across NJ & MA.
One is an 1884 B&S #1 horizontal milling machine I'm taking to the Ford
Piquette Ave Plant for the re-creation of Henry's Model T Development Lab.

Edit:
In the video, I'm the one wearing the pineapple themed shirt.

I'm guessing there would be belts around those big wheels to run machinery?

I found on line a pic of the engine I brought to the show.
This is before I got it running.....

Is it steam powered?
I appears to have a stack for either smoke or steam
No, it just alternately heats & then cools air in a closed volume.
The increase & decrease in pressure causes the pistons to increase & decrease volume.
Here's a really boring explanation of my engines function....

Here's a simpler engine animated cartoon.....

No no no...mechanics are not nerds...mechanics are the guys that make the stuff, you nerd engineers come up with, work...mechanics are cool..... unlike engineers...who are NERDS.
Anyone paying undue attention (as you did) to such geeky things is a nerd.
