The aim of going into politics is to accumulate as much power as possible for as long as possible.

If not this then what?

It's inherent to politics. You need power to change things, no matter how noble your cause is.

Money, money, money. In the U. S. someone will spend millions of dollars to get elected to a position that might pay $100,000 a year. Why? Because they can get much more than the $100,000 from kickbacks and payoffs.

Bojos already rich but he’s an Etonian and most who come from that school end up as an MP,the hope is you get to where Bojo is and end up with a peerage and sit in the House of Lords and on the board of directors of lucrative company’s.

In an ideal world you should go into politics to make a fair better world for the people you represent and serve, the reality is politicians are the most untrustworthy self serving lying ****ers and usually get away with it.

Nixon Trump GW Bush Tony Blair, massive liars yet Trumps free and probably cheating at something,GW Bush is probably cruising around in one of J Lenos collection of cars and Tony Blair got a knighthood after being refused a peerage,to me it’s discusting because nobody is above the law.
Rant over.

Since I believe there are people who are thirsty for justice out there, I believe there have been politicians who have chosen that pathway just to ensure people justice and welfare.

Justice is wanting every citizen to be happy.

But to get justice you must get power first?

In parliamentarian systems the Prime Minister does not really have a "power" on his own. He/she always needs the Parliament to pass laws.
But they still have executive powers that are separate to any legislative powers they may have

I know this is an extreme example, but if he so wanted, Boris Johnson could start a nuclear war

It would literally take one phone call

He was elected at least. We have a former Goldman Sachs banker as PM...

Not to mention lucrative book deals and paid speaking engagements.
