The Bible declares that Jesus is God

Also Angels are referred to as sons of God. However Jesus, alone, is the Monogenes Huois and Monogenes Theos.
Looking up those terms you mentioned: 'Only begotten son' comes directly from John 1. This only begotten son comes from the bosom of God, however Jesus is from the bosom of Mary. We have two wombs then, one for Jesus and one for Monogenes Huois. This corresponds well with Jesus comment (John 3) that you must be born of the spirit separately from water. Again there are two wombs for each son of God. John does not say that the monogenes huois comes from Mary's bosom, and that is important. Its specifically not a declaration that 'Jesus is God'.

I must also point out that there is a declaration from heaven when Jesus is baptized, but it specifically leaves out anything about Jesus being God. John sees the Spirit descend upon him. Luke 2:3 says a voice from heaven announces "You are my son..."

God is spirit (John 4:24);
And Jesus referred to His body as just a temple (John 2:19-21).
...

That is the problem when people jump into conclusions and they refused to show the contents of the verse. Often they would carelessly throw around verses left and right - without even explaining and expounding each verses thrown.

Since you have thrown 2, let us examine these.

John 4:24 New International Version (NIV)

God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

Do you see God? No, right. Because God is spirit. That is also the teaching of the apostles.

1 Timothy 1:17
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The only God is invisible. You can't see invisible. If something is visible then that is not God. What do you mean by ONLY God? That is exclusivity - and the only God cannot be seen [invisible]. Was Jesus seen? Yes he was.

Matthew 8:34
Then the whole town went out to meet Jesus. And when they saw him, they pleaded with him to leave their region.

In fact the people and the enemies of Jesus saw him too that they killed him and hang him on the cross.

Acts 10:39
“We are witnesses of everything he did in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They killed him by hanging him on a cross,

The only God is immortal. You can't kill an immortal. If something can die, then that isn't God. What do you mean by ONLY God? That is exclusivity - and the only God cannot die [immortal]. Did Jesus die? Yes he did and he did not pretend to be dead - he was dead. Confirmed dead.

Mark 15:43-45 New International Version (NIV)

Joseph of Arimathea, a prominent member of the Council, who was himself waiting for the kingdom of God, went boldly to Pilate and asked for Jesus’ body. Pilate was surprised to hear that he was already dead. Summoning the centurion, he asked him if Jesus had already died. When he learned from the centurion that it was so, he gave the body to Joseph.

The last verse you thrown in was

John 2:19-21 New International Version (NIV)

Jesus answered them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.”

They replied, “It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?” But the temple he had spoken of was his body.

Don't know why you threw this but anyway let us examine this. That is the problem when you throw verse numbers but don't give emphasis or even bother to explain the essence. But I will guess and maybe it deals with “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” On the same Book of John subsequent to John 2, on chapters 8 & 12 what did Jesus say?

John 8:28
So Jesus said, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am he and that I do nothing on my own but speak just what the Father has taught me.

John 12:49
For I did not speak on my own, but the Father who sent me commanded me to say all that I have spoken.

So here, Jesus said: I do nothing on my own & I did not speak on my own - he spoke what the Father told him to what to speak

When Jesus died, who raised who from the dead?

Acts 5:30
The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross.

and other verses of the Bible also mention the same thing, God raised Jesus from the dead - emphatically
When you believe Jesus raised himself from the dead and he was just pretending to be dead - then that is unscriptural and you will not be saved at the end of all things. Because this is written:

upload_2017-5-30_9-38-33.jpeg

So who raised the Lord Jesus Christ from the dead?
God raised him from the dead.

That being said, God is different from the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus is not God - sorry but that is clearly in the Bible.

They say in that reference for Heb 5:9 he learns obedience, and that when he obeys to the point of death he finally reaches perfection. They specifically call it the completion of his moral discipline and that through obedience he becomes the author of salvation. I am able to make out very few of the Greek terms, but I understand the gist of what they are saying as most of it is in English.

In His condescension, laying adide His prerogative of divinity, not His divine nature but the exercise of His own divine privilege, as a man He "grew in stature" and "learned obedience" and that perfectly. This was a work to be accomplished to fulfill the representative office as the "Last Adam". To be the perfect substitute for His sheep.

I think that is drifting away from the OP. What you have there is a church doctrine, and its a framework for Bible study, too. Just like people can have multiple color schemes for the same coloring book there are multiple drop-in frameworks for Bible study. The framework and the colors are an interpolation for those times when the Bible does not say something. Like with a coloring book you can give it colors by choosing what things mean, and then that effects the meanings of other things. So far the best system I know is the one that I use. That must be what you do as well. You do what you can.

Understanding this simple concept, The Bible takes on a new dimension. It's not about the words. It's about what inspired the words.
You have to look beyond the words to divine the message.

And what inspired the NT is the liturgical usage in the worship and prayers of the Christian community in practice well before anything was written. Many of the texts that refer to Jesus as God are doxologies used in public prayer. The Prologue of John was originally a hymn, and there is Pliny stating Christians sing hymns to Christ as to a God.

I hope you like the list, my friend.
To me, it is unmistakeable that the Scriptures teach that Jesus is God.
#45 is my favorite out of that list of 160.

...

I agree, it's quite a list! :)

God does not give or yield His glory to another
(Isaiah 42:8) yet we see God conferring His glory on Jesus (posts 41-43)

There is no getting around this. You can't duck it, go under it, jump over it, or slide around it.

Making Jesus another God means we have two Gods, or one too many, and making him a demi-God means splitting your worship when God requires exclusive devotion (Deuteronomy 6:5, Exodus 20:4-5) and we cannot serve two masters (Matthew 6:24).

So while non-Trinitarians have been taught to reflexively attack the Trinity, I really haven't seen how they reconcile scripture. Either they make statements that scripture cannot be reconciled (and thus attack the basis of their belief), spuriously add words to scripture (as Jehovah Witnesses have done), or they make the spiritual jump into polytheism.

Non-Trinitarians have a varied approach. When discussing the Trinity I've found it a good idea to find out which approach they subscribe to. Most are so busy arguing what they are against that they've given little thought to what they are arguing for.

So I'd like to hear from our friends here who so vehemently argue against the Trinity. If Jesus is not God, how can Jesus receive or be conferred even a fraction of the glory due exclusively to God?

The conclusion is obvious throughout these few verses:

If Jesus is The Word. Rev.19:13

And if that same Word is God. Jn.1:1-18

Then Jesus is God.

Special thanks to James R White

The Word in this Verse is that of the Word of God for this Day Baha'u'llah (Glory of God). The son returned in the Glory of the Father.

"When the Word of God is revealed unto all created things whoso then giveth ear and heedeth the Call is, indeed, reckoned among the most distinguished souls, though he be a carrier of ashes. And he who turneth away is accounted as the lowliest of His servants, though he be a ruler amongst men and the possessor of all the books that are in the heavens and on earth." (Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 186)

"Such are the mysteries of the Word of God, which have been unveiled and made manifest, that haply thou mayest apprehend the morning light of divine guidance, mayest quench, by the power of reliance and renunciation, the lamp of idle fancy, of vain imaginings, of hesitation, and doubt, and mayest kindle, in the inmost chamber of thine heart, the new-born light of divine knowledge and certitude. (Bahá’u’lláh, The Kitáb-i-Iqan, p. 48)

"The Word of God is the king of words and its pervasive influence is incalculable. It hath ever dominated and will continue to dominate the realm of being. The Great Being saith: The Word is the master key for the whole world, inasmuch as through its potency the doors of the hearts of men, which in reality are the doors of heaven, are unlocked. No sooner had but a glimmer of its effulgent splendour shone forth upon the mirror of love than the blessed word ‘I am the Best-Beloved’ was reflected therein. It is an ocean inexhaustible in riches, comprehending all things. Every thing which can be perceived is but an emanation therefrom." (Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, p. 173)

"..We have learnt from the words of Bahá’u’lláh that the Word of God is the cause of producing the heat whereby creation has come into being. This is also true in a spiritual sense. Only the Word of God can light the flame of love in the heart of a believer, and then only provided the individual succeeds in severing his attachment from the things of this world." (Adib Taherzadeh, The Revelation of Bahá’u’lláh v 4, p. 283)

IF JESUS IS GOD THEN THERE WILL BE TWO GODS

The Father alone is the true God. This is the teaching explicitly written in the Bible. The Lord Jesus Christ Himself, the apostles, and even the prophets of ancient Israel clearly declared that there is only One True God, the Father. And the Lord Jesus Christ also declared that to attain eternal life is to accept that the Father is the only true God:

John 17:3, 1 NIV
“Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.
“After Jesus said this, he looked toward heaven and prayed: "Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you.

There is no contradiction in the Bible. This teaching of the Holy Scripture that the Father alone is the True God must not be contradicted. Thus, if a belief contradicts this teaching of the Bible that there is only One True God, the Father, that belief must be rejected. The apostles admonish the Christians to reject the “gospel” different from the one they preached:

Galacia 1:6-8 NIV
“I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you by the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel- which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!”

Did you know that the belief that the Lord Jesus is God contradict the teaching of the Bible that the Father alone is the true God?

JESUS IS A MAN WHO HAS TOLD THE TRUTH
WHICH HE HEARD FROM GOD

John 8:40 NKJV
“But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this.”

If Jesus is the true God then who is the God that from Him Jesus heard the truth? Hence, there will be two Gods.

JESUS IS THE SERVANT OF GOD

Acts 3:13 NKJV
“The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.”

If Jesus is God, then God (Jesus) is a Servant of another God because Jesus is the Servant of the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Thus, there will be two Gods.

JESUS IS SITTING AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD

Colossians 3:1 NKJV
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God.”

Accepting Jesus as God is like saying that God is sitting at the right hand of another God because Jesus is sitting at the right hand of God.

JESUS IS THE CHRIST OF GOD

Luke 9:20 NKJV
“He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said, ‘The Christ of God.’”

Christ is God? Then “God is Christ of another God.” Truly, the belief that Christ is God deviate from the teachings of the Holy Scriptures that Jesus is the Christ of the One True God, the Father.

JESUS IS GOD’S MESSENGER AND HIGH PRIEST

Hebrew 3:1 LB
“Therefore, dear brothers whom God has set apart for himself-you who are chosen for heaven-I want you to think now about this Jesus who is God's Messenger and the High Priest of our faith.”

Thus, accepting Jesus as God is like accepting that God’s messenger is also God, and God’s High Priest is also God. Two Gods? God (Jesus) is the messenger of another God? God (Jesus) is the High Priest of another God? Truly, the teaching that Christ is God is a “different gospel.”

JESUS IS THE LAMB OF GOD

John 1:36 NKJV
“And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, ‘Behold the Lamb of God!’”

Jesus is the “Lamb of God.” If Jesus is God, then God is the Lamb of another God. Two Gods? Is that acceptable to the Bible? No.

GOD MADE JESUS LORD AND CHRIST

Acts 2:36 NIV
“Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.”

Thus, accepting Christ as God is like accepting that God was made Lord and Christ. And who is the God that made Him Lord and Christ? Then there will be two Gods.

CONCLUSION

These are only some of numerous verses in the Bible that prove that if we are going to accept that the Lord Jesus Christ is God, there will be two Gods, and this contradicts the teaching clearly written in the Bible that the Father alone is the True God.

You forgot to include any reliable sources to give some credibility to your assertions.
Also you demonstrate a total lack of what the Bible actually teaches.

I know exactly what the bible teaches. The teachings of Jesus and facts of history--prove no trinity god exists.
Jesus came to bring all together as one---not a house divided( 33,000) trinity based religions) will not stand.( Mark 3:24-26)
A house divided-- is not Gods.

Could you provide such evidence that these teachings are false, and I ask this being a non-Catholic and a non-Christian? Generally speaking, religious beliefs are almost always unfalsifiable.

Jesus teaches--he has a God-his Father--John 20:17, Rev 3:12--- Jesus, real teachers on earth teach this fact. So unless--God has a God--someone is lying and I know its not Jesus.

Since you "know exactly what the Bible teaches" Then we all would greatly appreciate that you would finally (no one has yet) demonstrate, from the Biblical texts presented, that they are not declaring that Jesus is God.

If Jesus is the Word Rev.19:13
And if that same Word is God John 1:1-18
Then Jesus is God John 20:26-29

If God alone is to be worshipped Matthew 4:8-10
And if Jesus receives and accepts worship without any Biblical admonishment but full approval John 9:35-38; Rev. 22:1-3
Then the Bible declares that Jesus is God

If Jesus is the Word Rev.19:13
And if that same Word is God John 1:1-18
Then Jesus is God John 20:26-29

190.gif

"If Jesus is the Word Rev.19:13"

Revelation 19:13 New International Version (NIV)

He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

The mere fact that John saw the one dressed in a robe dipped in blood - you knew well that he is not invisible hence not the Only True God. Then his name is the Word of God - that proves that someone owns the word, and that someone is God.

"And if that same Word is God John 1:1-18"

John 1:1 is the first verse in the opening chapter of the Gospel of John. In the Douay–Rheims, King James, New International, and other versions of the Bible, the verse reads:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.[1][2][3]

The phrase "the Word" (a translation of the Greek word "Logos") is widely interpreted as referring to Jesus, as indicated in other verses later in the same chapter.[4] This verse and others throughout Johannine literature connect the Christian understanding of Jesus to the philosophical idea of the Logos and the Hebrew Wisdom literature. They also set the stage for later understanding development of Trinitarian theology early in the post-biblical era.
John 1:1 - Wikipedia

Logos (UK /ˈloʊɡɒs, ˈlɒɡɒs/, US /ˈloʊɡoʊs/; Ancient Greek: λόγος, from λέγω lego"I say") is a term in western philosophy, psychology, rhetoric, and religion derived from a Greek word meaning "ground", "plea", "opinion", "expectation", "word", "speech", "account", "reason", "proportion", "discourse"

Therefore John 1:1 is read like this:
john11.JPG

Hence the understanding of John 1:1 should be:

The expectation of Jesus Christ existed in the very beginning,
The expectation of Jesus Christ was with God
The expectation of Jesus Christ was divine

As the article in en.wikipedia stated about John 1:1
They also set the stage for later understanding development of Trinitarian theology early in the post-biblical era.

Post-biblical era - the Niceaen doctrine that Jesus is God was developed. You don't develop what is already clear in the Bible. That is already adulterating and apostatizing the words of God.

Then Jesus is God John 20:26-29

Should I even bother to comment on this???
The Only God is eternal, immortal and invisible.

1 Timothy 1:17
Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The Lord Jesus was born in Bethlehem, died and visible
If Jesus is God, 1 Timothy 1:17 would not have been written
But it was written hence the Lord Jesus is not God.

Engraved? It is no more an "engraved" image than your avatar. I have no objection to good religious art. The warning you are offering? is in regard the the 2nd Commandment I suppose. One must be careful to not read Scripture in "sound bytes".

4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

From these 3 verses it appears that your are as guilty as I since your image "is in the earth beneath", that is if your reading of the text stops at the end of verse 4. But read on through verse 5 that the reason for God's Command is against the worship of such idols. Of which I, and I hope you, do not engage.

Since I do not worship anything, I suppose I am safe.

And if Jesus receives and accepts worship without any Biblical admonishment but full approval John 9:35-38; Rev. 22:1-3

What did Jesus declare about himself, in the Bible?

John 8:40-45 New King James Version (NKJV)

But now you seek to kill Me, a Man who has told you the truth which I heard from God. Abraham did not do this. You do the deeds of your father.”

Then they said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father—God.”

Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word. You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it. But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.

I believe what Jesus said and understood it:
  1. He is a Man
  2. He is a Man who told the truth, he heard from God
  3. He is a Man who came from God
  4. He is a Man sent by God
He did not say he is God
He did not say he is Man-God or God-Man
He said he is a Man

Those who do not believe, Jesus said their father is the devil because they are not able to listen to his word.

Now, why do we worship Jesus when he is a man not God? The reason is in the Bible also:

Philippians 2:9-11New International Version (NIV)

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

Did Jesus exalted himself?
No, he did not.

Who exalted Jesus?
It was God.

Did Jesus give himself a name above every name?
No, he did not.

Who gave him the name?
It was God.

What are the name given to Jesus?
King of Kings, Lord of Lords among others

Why do we worship the man, Jesus Christ?
to the glory of God the Father
