This is a video from Dr. Ekberg that I would like to share . It's a little long but I find it worth watching:

What do you think? Does Social Media damage the brain?
I think he makes some very good points.

Any social media, including this website is designed in a way to hijack your dopaminergic response system,.so as to reward you for interacting there. It's why you get endless notifications and updates. They are "rewards" for allowing them to steal your attention, like attention stealing fae.

I think, like too much of something, can be extremely disastrous.

Getting cloistered and living in a bubble is becoming very apparent now and the disconnect is noticeable. It's a hazardous way to live I think.

Like they say, Go outside and get a little fresh air from time to time. See how the real world lives!

Absolutely!
It’s far too easy to fall down “rabbit holes” or find yourself in an echo chamber.

Though I suppose recent events might have exasperated that as well. Lockdowns, and at least where I live, natural disasters.

We should all remember to “touch grass.”

Twenty eight minutes?! Are you having a laugh?!
What are the very good points? (In no more than 280 characters). ;)

No more than chocolate, wine, or cat videos.

But if believing they get brain damage from it makes people stop engaging excessively with social media, then I guess, why not.
