The Breakfast Club

We Never Know

No Slack
I put this in dicission so we could discuss it.

This song says it best. We really are not so different after all.

We are all a Brain, an Athlete, a Basketcase, a Princess, and a Criminal.

Thoughts?

Love the movie. I loved Bender most, btw. Wanted to date Judd Nelson after that. :p

The film shows we all choose and all wear our masks. We put a lot of effort into our representation to the world. We maintain it vigilantly. It's just a mask and we're just kids. And it was just another movie.

But still, would you call my name if I passed you by?

I liked that movie so much when it came out. Over the years I got tired of just seeing the advertisements of it playing on TV, I had seen it so many times. After a while I tried to watch it again for nostalgic sake. And I thought, I liked this?! These were the things I thought were important at the time? These petty, silly social parodies we construct? Full circle? I don't know. I don't really care anymore, I suppose. Lot of water under the bridge. Lot of other stuff too.

I liked The Breakfast Club when it came out. It seemed more like a teen group therapy movie, but it was okay.

I had never heard of Saturday detention - either before or after this movie came out. That was a weird aspect.

I think the one teen movie from that era which better captures the flavor of high school life was Fast Times At Ridgemont High.
