The Bride, Virgin, and Widow

The bride archetype is the beautiful, young woman on the day of the holy wedding. This archetype dominates western culture. She is the spirit behind the impulse for women to post thirst trap pics. When women seek validation through hookup culture, it is in the image of the bride they are seeking that affirmation.

In order for a women to graduate to the next archetype, she must stretch her faith and trust that she has been affirmed in an absolute way. Only through trusting in her absolute affirmation can a women stop seeking affirmation as the bride. The woman must decide for herself that she has been affirmed absolutely and hold herself to this decision.

The next archetype is the virgin. The virgin is defined by her faith and patience in God and in her rightful groom. She trusts her absolute affirmation and dresses in a modest way, no longer needing validation.

The final archetype is the widow. The widow is the other side of the coin with the virgin. When the virgin calls to her rightful groom, he comes quickly, so in the absence of this, the only conclusion is that he must be dead. Consequently, the widow seeks justice against God for breaking his promise for a holy wedding.

The weddings and marriages of this world can never live up to the holy wedding and holy union written on the soul of every woman, which is why divorce is so common. We are at a point where it’s time we stop pretending that the counterfeit is the real.

We need a new marriage covenant, one in which the man honors the widow who desires justice. The one who honors the persistent widow is the man who goes on a journey. This man can become the rightful groom and turn the widow into his bride.

To be clear, both the female and male archetypes exist within males and females, which is why as a man I can say I have a feminine side and know these archetypes.

This also means I’m not saying women should only identify with the female archetypes.

Wouldn't it be the virgin, and then bride?

Are you familiar with the maiden/mother/crone concept in Wicca?

I’m unfamiliar.
Here's a link:

The Triple Goddess is honored in some traditions as the Sacred Feminine. She represents the cycles of nature and life. Sometimes her aspects are worshipped singly, other times collectively.

I'm not sure I understand here. Can you elaborate?
You are actually correct. In the story of the soul, the virgin is before the bride. The holy wedding, and therefore the bride, is the happy ending of the story.

However, in the reality of this world, we human beings just want to skip to the end and avoid the trials and tribulations which occur in the middle of the story. Within this context, a typical female will choose to identify as the bride initially.

This is an over-simplified explanation, but it’s all I have to offer for now.

Is there really an end, though? And a happy one, at that?

The bride will one day be a widow, or a widower.
