The Pauline implication that the circumcision scar is a memetic prosthesis implies that the scar itself is a meme able to replicate, and in its replication, create a new world order orders of magnitude more remarkable than any of the products of the gene and its epoch. Paul implies that the circumcision scar is in fact a meme: it is the sign, or signifier, of an idea, whose time, having come, marks, right on the significant flesh, the end of the gene, and thus the pruning of the tree of that kind of life, gene life, which the scar symbolizes cutting down to a mere stump, so that the prosthesis, the meme of the end of the gene, can, in place of the tree of genetic life, sprout forth to spread its own seed in place of the seed of the newly scarred gene replication mechanism.
By implying that the phallus is the organ representing gene replication as opposed to meme replication, the significance of circumcision as the sign of the end of the one, and the beginning of the other, could hardly be more perfect. To be born Jewish a person needs to have a Jewish mother, but not a Jewish father. The father is insignificant concerning the Jewishness of the mother's offspring. In Jewish law, the male organ of the father is memetically, legally, and conceptually, eliminated, emasculated, scarred. It plays no role in the Jewishness of the offspring.
This implies that the Jewish mother appears to provide the best soil for harvesting Jewish memes. Non-Jews can convert to Judaism and thereafter fertilize their formerly Gentile, genetic, soil, in a manner that allows them to be more fertile for Jewish memes, but it's the memes and not genes that really determine superiority or inferiority. Genetic measurements of such things lead to racism, and patrilineal/genetic privileges, which are the sworn enemy of the evolution of the meme.
This makes the relationship between genes and memes the crux, so to say, of the issue, if you will, and most of you won't. Further, what's the relationship between memes and genes, memes and the phallus? There appears to be a visible, and digestible, reason, why Judaism privileges the womb of the mother, while circumcising the phallus of the father. There's a clear and obvious reason why circumcision (
brit milah) is the quintessential sign of the advent, or epoch, the arrival as it were, of Jewish memes, and thus what St. Paul refers to as a new spiritual creature.
Judaism literally, figuratively speaking, bleeds the gene producer in order to remake it into a meme spreader. By bleeding the phallus as the central meme representing Judaism, Jews replace the fruitfulness of Adam and Eve, through which they began what Professor Wolfson refers to as the "reign of the phallus," into the reign not of the phallus, but the Word. The scar manufactured at the ritual circumcision is a world-altering meme whose significance is having its way with the explosion of world-altering evolutionary technologies. Every participant, at every ritual circumcision, is supposed to leave impregnated by the Jewish meme such that they leave augmented with a memetic prosthesis implanted on the Gentile flesh.
