That's a very good point

But we used to sing it in assemblies when I was at primary school and I went to a church school, it was in a book that I think was called Sing The Faith, or something like that

Perhaps it's secretly about Satan and the songwriter managed to sneak it into a book of children's hymns to get all the kids singing praises to The Prince of Darkness?

Fundamentalist Christians do believe the world is controlled by Satan afterall
