Guitar's Cry
Disciple of Pan
I was gone.
And then you left.
Blameless,
For reflections of the past
Are not visions of the future.
I sit alone where together we sat.
The once-too-narrow-for-two-people halls
Gape in cavernous silence.
I reflect nothing; a dead past
Against your pull to new visions.
Blameless,
The living need to live
And the dead are shadows,
Not even reflections that can be sat with.
So alone I sit.
And hope your visions don't end too early
And don't reflect too far
From the memory of me.
And then you left.
Blameless,
For reflections of the past
Are not visions of the future.
I sit alone where together we sat.
The once-too-narrow-for-two-people halls
Gape in cavernous silence.
I reflect nothing; a dead past
Against your pull to new visions.
Blameless,
The living need to live
And the dead are shadows,
Not even reflections that can be sat with.
So alone I sit.
And hope your visions don't end too early
And don't reflect too far
From the memory of me.
